East has played two of its better games of the year in its past two games. It's encouraging, but the "patience" mantra applies when they're doing well, too. They need to show some steady improvement.
Elks get a win in one of their two remaining section games. Murrays scores with 20 ticks left for the 3-2 win. 3 tough games up next, Grove, Cent. and East. A win is win.
But they still put it on the left hand side of the column. They just drilled Andover a week or so ago and the Huskies typically have played them tough.

Sure, his first start, but he's played 4 periods worth of minutes and it isn't like he became a goalie last Tuesday. That said, the goalie angle is irrelevant here. He allowed 2 to a team that averages 2.11 per game. The bigger question is why only 3 goals against a 4-14 team averaging 4.61 goals allowed per game. Sure, one guy is out, but the win was still ugly. And the win was still a win.
No style points will awarded to the Elks for this one then. Played The Huskies for 6 periods this year and outscored them 10-3. Will need to play at their best going forward as they control their own destiny in looking for the top seed. Were not talking about the 79 Montreal Canadiens here, the NW Suburban games can be dicey.
well I don't mess with boblee now or ever. The ER kids played like crap. It was an ugly ugly game. ER is in big trouble if they play like that in the future.

My sources tell me Coach Roberts is up to his old coaching tricks, which means this team will dive just like his previous 4 ER teams.
Sorry ER faithful you got zero chance getting past Coach Randolph and you will get steam-rolled by East next weekend.

Welcome to boy's side Wolfman. Lesson #1: Tread lightly when going up against the Rapids PR machine until you get your feet under you. Sats is the only one that has been able get a decision over them.

I actually do PR for Grand Rapids at www.grhshockey.com, so I am fine with that criticism. But, don't lump others in with that. They have their own agendas.
Wayzata simply out worked Rapids in the 2nd and 3rd periods especially in their repective defensive zones. The Trojans were blocking shots all night and Rapids was flat footed watching the puck. A much better effort by the orange and black will be needed going forward.
The plot thickens, couple of line brawls to end the game tonight. Elks newly committed freshman and the MG goalie look like they were ejected. Would be second offense for for the frosh meaning a multiple game suspension.
ER's Jack Perbix suspended for 4 games due to his second game misconduct Saturday night. That'll make things even tougher against upcoming Centennial and Duluth East.
Hopefully Zerban is recovering from Mono... The Elks are gonna need him.

Makes sense now that he committed to the Fighting Irish.
