If you haven't watched the Broadcasts of the games the last few years, Lou Nanne is Always talking positive about the southern teams, and rarely says something good about northern teams.
What do you expect his kids played at Edina and the U? Like I said - get the Broten's down here. They'd obviously be welcome.
His grand kid plays for Apple Valley

I've found Nanne to be biased towards Edina, Jefferson and anybody who is "supposed to win". He was as pro Roseau as you can get against Blaine.

Yep, you'll be able to hear a..

if a pin drops in the "bored" and there are no RoSo fans to hear it(because they're too busy complaining about Nanne), does it still make a noise?

Exactly, if Roseau would have started out hot he would have been on their bandwagon the whole game. HM was the better team, end of discussion.

that disallowed goal really changed the momentum of the game.

either way HM was the best team on the ice tonight

Gotta hand it to Hill, they totally took Ness out of the game. Played physical, goalie played great, PK was awesome. Did everything you have to do to beat Roseau. Just a shame to go 29-1. This had nothing to do with a weak schedule or coaching or anything like that. They just ran into a team on a mission. And God help Scott Oliver.

It's times like this when a 5-21-1 season isn't so bad.

Nobody in their right mind is saying that. I think people are a little hard on Lou. Sure he was on Hill's bandwagon but it was pretty hard not to be. But what the heck do I know.

That last sentence of your post is what is wrong with sports. If anybody blames this on the coach they seriously need to get their head examined. It high school sports and coaches shouldn't be under that type of pressure.

Probably Hill's third biggest win ever, behind their two championships. I'm really happy for their whole team, especially Phillipi. It's been a long time coming for him to play well at the X. This is also in my eyes the epitome of hockey when a coach and team are clicking. Hill had a game plan and executed it to a tee. The were completely methodical, and that rarely rubs off in a game. So to see it as seldom as it happens is very rare. They played extremely intelligently and physically, and when the opportunity was open to smother Ness in the boards, they did that. A real special victory for them. One where every teammate was on the same page. And I have it all recorded on tape for reflection. :D

There actually are a lot of level-headed Roseau fans. I've exchanged private messages with a few. When I asked some questions in a survey form the most common answer to one of the questions was that they suspected Roseau would have lost 2 or 3 if they faced Edina's schedule.

Now for the small minority doing most of the posting - Pareto, anyone? - we shall see. Amos, BIAFP, and a few others. They acted like it was unconscionable that Roseau could lose, touted Lee as the best goaltender not named Hasek, scoffed at the notion that Edina may be as good as them, and acted as though Ness is a can't miss. (FWIW, Gleason is the best HS skater I've seen and all year he rushed up ice and wound up in the corner. Yesterday against a mediocre Cloquet team he somehow found himself in front of the net and scored twice...something he couldn't do much all season. Yes, it matters a lot who you play.)

Roseau obviously has a great team. I really wanted to see them win so I'd finally get the answer to the question. I have no idea if Edina could beat them and will never know.

Congratulations to Hill-Murray. What a great outing. And props to the Roseau Rams. Great season, great two-year run.
Be kind. Rewind.

1st time Mike Lee sees over 25 shots in a game this season, and gives up 4 goals with a save percentage below 90%. He's just an average goalie on a great team. Philippi was the difference maker in this game. Will not be as impressive tomorrow night.

Ness was not impressive. Watched many plays where he stopped back checking on a HM rush. Seemed as if he quit midway through the 3rd.
