Messer-
I'm pretty sure there was about 8 Seconds left. Play started to get chippy. The refs then ran out the clock and our guys came onto the ice around our goalie. Then was when all hell broke loose.

That's how I recall it.
BVILLE

Change of subject...
Good luck to all playoffs teams, especially the Blaze! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> All 12 teams deserve to be there and it'll be fun to watch. Monday's match ups just might look like this:

1 Elks v 8 Rville
2 EP Black v 7 WB Orange
3 Bville v 6 Centennial
4 EP Red v 5 Tartan

Winner of those game go to Regions from MHL.
Loser of Elk/Rville plays 12 Tonka or BP (whomever goes)
Loser of EPB/WBO plays 11 RAVE
Loser of Bville/Cen plays 10 WB Black
Loser of EPR/Tarts plays 9 Edina

This is not official, it's only a Rat-y guess....

Save me jeeeebus!!!!!
Holy Hanna boys!

Here's the deal. This sounds a lot like Tartan Coach and my game up in Carlton. There wasnt the big hit, but there was the ruckus in front of our net and we both payed the price afterwords. All the coached can do in that situation is hope that what they have taught the kids will kick in and cooler head will prevail. However, we are dealing with 16-19 year old kids here. . . and if you think that consistancy in decision making and forthought are on the top of thier heads then you are wrong.

In our scuffle, i had two kids on my team who are total pasifist get booted for 3 games. They were put into a situation and reacted. Lesson learned. If you throw punches you are done, plain and simple. I've since told my guys that there is no shame in running like a little girl away from a mess like that, or if feel you have to stay. . . show a little love and just hug the guy.

If Brandon is correct in saying that Chad told his players there was no chance to make playoffs, and gave the players on his team the idea that there was nothing to lose...then yes he is at fault. Even if there was a hit earlier in the game, and you have hard feelings, get your butts off the ice. Also sounds like the Officials are to blame for this one. They are to form a line between the two teams and escort the first team off the ice. Where were they during all this?

Lastly, i have played both teams and both games were clean and hard fought. I know both coaches play a good style of hockey and its very unfortunate that this had to happen on the last day of the regular season. If we do lose to ER on monday night though, it will be nice to play a team we beat 7-1 with 3 of thier guys gone!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... oachGuy at: 2/20/04 3:14 pm

Re: Heated
MNHO,

i actually had to do some work today!

The EPR and EPB game was quick moving and a heck of a lot faster than the tuesday night tilt we had with Red. I will say this. If you play Red (hey tartan coach!) make thier defensemen handle the puck. We have serval guys who dont have speed to compete one on one and they simply dump and chase. That is where we excelled tuesday night. We made them make quick decisions and our second and third guy into the zone just did a little reading and reacting to the play and we were able to set up a decent forcheck. Like JAZ said. . . there was a lot of looking for that hail mary pass down the center of the ice. Each team had two pretty goals down at the far end of the ice. Both were just lasers, and then each team got a rebound goal down at the end we were standing at.

a good game and at least now we know where we stand in relation to the EP teams...

Edit
I was busy kiddingly bad-mouthing you for not giving me a summary . . . while you were giving me a summary, so I retracted it. Don't think there's a way to delete an entry, so I edited it to a couple dots.

Re: tartan
Bring it on elkman. You won't have the barn advantage with uncle Al reffing next time we meet. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

Keep it up, Gentlemen!
Love it! A good scrappy hockey game makes for good playoff games! Monday night should be interesting. It's too bad that the website for the MHL isn't updated and ready to go.

I hope someone steps up and grabs the open position next season! I hear it pays a little too <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
