Cloquet-Hibbing will not be rescheduled.
Thanks, no points won or lost for this cancelled game.

For tomorrow's games everyone, except DmanDad1980, has posted their scores.
Whew, I would hate to go further in the hole!

Irondale came out strong in the opening minutes tonight but could not score. BSM took over the game midway through the first period and won going away, 7-1.

Everybody gets a point for this one.

Just saw that score. Three of our contestents (StateChamp 97, DmanDad1980 and trojangoalie241) got the score right and pick up three points each.

Roseville 4, Cretin 1

I get the proper margin of victory, but can't nail the correct scores.

I also had a 3 goal margin of victory, but I guessed 3-0.

Wow, four contestants nailed this one - 3 points each for goalzilla, GOCARDS1, twowayplay and StateChamp97.

Final score from yesterday:

Proctor/Hermantown/Duluth Marshall 1, Cloquet 0

No correct scores for this one, and a number of us (including me) incorrectly forecasted Cloquet to win this game.

Overall StateChamp97 has managed to pick four correct scores and has a 2 point lead over ice29 and DmanDad1980 who are tied for 2nd:

StateChamp97: 12 points
ice29: 10
DmanDad1980: 10
Cardfan: 7
goalzilla: 6
GOCARDS1: 6
MNHockeyFan: 6
twowayplay: 4
trojangoalie241: 4
Hansonbrother: 2
bensonmum: 2
boblee: 2
hockeyrube7: 0

For tonight's games we are waiting pics from twowayplay, boblee, DmanDad1980 and trojangoalie241. Please post before 6:00 pm!

This can be very humbling, and you've obviously figured out that it helps to maintain a sense of humor.

MNHockeyFan--since you've done such a fantastic job of this, you know what this means: your responsibility, if you choose to accept it, is to organize a state tournament bracket. (And how about a few of the more contentious section brackets? 6AA and 4AA come to mind.....)

It'll be easy for MNHockeyFan. He can just check out the master bracket when it is released (AA only).

boblee, I don't know what format you have in mind for the master bracket you're developing, so I don't know how useful it would be. In these weekly contests I've tried to pick the big games involving the better teams, focusing on those that I would expect to be close matchups that could go either way. In sections, all of the games are "big" of course but most of them in the first round involve a heavy favorite playing an underdog. Maybe starting with each section's semi-finals it would make sense to include all of them. But that would be a lot of games - 16 A and AA sections times 4 would be 64 which would be too hard to keep track of, even with my handy little spreadsheet! I am open to ideas on this....maybe do just AA, or only include the final game for both classes?

Over in the guys forum we just play 16 games, the 16 section champions. My format is an excel file, but it is literally drawn up like a master bracket. We could do some sort of bracket challenge where I email out the bracket, you folks fill them in and we do it like an NCAA bracket. (play-in and qrts 1 pt, semis 2 pts, finals 3 pts, state qrts 4 pts, state semis 5 pts, and state finals 6 pts) The indivduals would be responsible for keeping track of their score.

OK I would be up for continuing here with the section final games for both A and AA, 16 games in all. I would also be up for doing your NCAA-like bracket thing via email, except unlike most of those there would be no money involved!

It would be for bragging rights here on the "bored."

Both squads are actually the lumberjacks. I see your bolded Bemidji, but I think both teams stick with the "Jacks" for girls sports.
