Minnesota Vikings 2008

All Spin aside, I really would like to see the film to see if TJack is missing wide open recievers or if he is throwing the ball to the wrong guy or just what.
Bernard Berriman. Is he still on the team?
Have they made the screen pass to AP illegal?
Is it a NFL rule that you cant have your best back, maybe the best in football, in the game on 3rd down?
Why isnt AP in the game on 3rd down?
Lets have another party for Bud Grant.

Didn't you watch it the 1st time? you'd need a patriot missile to bring down some of those launches.packerboy wrote:All Spin aside, I really would like to see the film to see if TJack is missing wide open recievers or if he is throwing the ball to the wrong guy or just what.

And yes he throws in the dirt, and behind them, because he never sets, he always panics and starts running around like Daunte ( I'm worth more Culpepper) did.
TJ is not a poised QB
Allen played good yesterday, and they couldn't run at all against us(except the 2 pt conv.)...But as always our secondary collapses under pressure when it's time to hold a lead . They do get a cookie for 2 INT's though.
The 3rd down issue is that Taylor is a better blocking back, but it doesn't matter if he's never gonna stay in the pocket.
Does that make any sense to you? Can't Never Tried wrote:

Nobody would ever hire me to be an offensive coordinator but if you need a back to block then put 2 in the game and send AP out on a pattern and/or throw a screen to him and let Taylor block his little head off.
Or take a WR out and put in a TE to block. The WRs dont do anything anyways and the TE can't catch.

You have a back in the back field to keep them honest, or an outlet or screen pass, he also picks up the odd rusher, if you put a full back or line men in the BF you may as well say yeah we're passing (like they can't figure chilly out any way) but that's not the point...
I wonder how many 3rd down catches Chuck Foreman had for first downs. I guess blocking wasnt inportant back then. Can't Never Tried wrote:packerboy wrote:Does that make any sense to you? Can't Never Tried wrote:

Would you slackers kindly hurry up and buy tickets to watch this exciting squad so I can sit home and throw things at my tv? There's a lot of hooplah surrounding them at them moment, so they'll probably go quick.
Thank you.

Thank you.

Did you not see the few times they threw flat passes to AP on the outside?? net gain about 3 yards...maybe!! they don't sell the fakes very well so it doesn't work! same with screens.
Now if you want to line him up as a receiver...go for it, maybe he can jump 30 ft in the air too!

When a soccer guy can tell what play is coming next, It should frighten everyone in the Twin Cities football community. I would love to play poker against Childress - too many tells! too many tendenciesCan't Never Tried wrote:Ok grumpypackerboy wrote:I wonder how many 3rd down catches Chuck Foreman had for first downs. If Jumpin Jackson would stay in the pocket it could happen, 3-5 step drop , then plant your feet and THROW THE BOOFIN BALL ON TARGET..

Quit breaking down your own protection...Next!

You seem to know your baseball !Irishmans Shanty wrote:Something tells me that Jackson has never been the best quarterback in his division, conference, county, age group, or league at any level of play yet he is one of 32 people in the world that have ascended to his position. I don't get it, but I don't get a lot of things.

Matt Cassel never played a game at QB in college or the NFL (aside from a couple of minutes of mop-up duty) and yesterday he beat Brett Favre who's played in 259 NFL games and is probably one of the top 5 all time QB's.Irishmans Shanty wrote:Something tells me that Jackson has never been the best quarterback in his division, conference, county, age group, or league at any level of play yet he is one of 32 people in the world that have ascended to his position. It's not the quarterback.

All we can do is hope that we can generate some offensive points.

After all it's only 2 losses ....I mean c'mon have a little faith

Help me out... Do we refer to this as "coming full circle", or "spin"?Can't Never Tried wrote:Oh for the crissake!Govs93 wrote:I've heard Childress say it!Can't Never Tried wrote:if you listened to the game yesterday.....they had an earlier interview with Brady... he made the comment in camp "Pretty good ain't he" in reference to Cassel...you don't here anyone one say that about not so lucky # 7![]()

There's one difference between Cassel and Jackson.
Cassel came into the season projected to hold the clipboard and wear a baseball cap just like he did last year and just like they hope he'll do next year.
Jackson came into the season with the franchise attached to his hitch.
Childress or whomever has given Jackson the reigns is smoking, inhaling, injecting something that isn't even legal where people wearing thongs hunt for food with blowguns.
The clock is ticking, the run defense has peaked and asking them to sustain this for the next 18 months isn't reasonable and AP, well.... he's playing a position where he was in his prime yesterday.
