OK boys here's what I could find out about Tonka from my Tonka sources ... you tell me if they are credible...

Goalie: Krueger (D1 possibility - on a great night the other team has no chance)
Defense: (the story everyone knows) Tremendous core of 4 D - 3 who are D1 selects and the 4th is very solid... Prochno and Holl are both offensive threats and fast. No one gets by Hesketh and Rossman is strong. Two other young up and comers..
Forwards: Gardiner (D1 - MN), Schutt, Frawley and Lunquist are all potentially D1 candidates, are very fast, will populate top two lines and are big scoring threats against any line. These guys will see a lot of ice time tonight. However , the real Tonka weapon is Tonkas depth as the other 5 forwards can all and have all put the puck in the net. The third line (Thornberg, Ryan)moves the puck very well and is a serious scoring threat. The depth and scoring potential of the 3 lines was identified as the biggest threat Tonka poses to every team.

Weaknesses: no obvious weaknesses however as someone mentioned above anyone can throw a brick in any given night. The Cadets will hope for that as well as a PP advantage and an off night by Krueger. Both STA and Tonka should have a strong PP...

Good luck to both teams with a little bit more for STA...

Wow, I'm not there, the video isn't up and the stats aren't shown on MSBN like usual, but they're making it sound like St Thomas is dominating. I didn't expect that one.

High Flyer wrote:Minnetonka is a very good team, was my pick this summer to win AA and still is. There has been a lot of hype about the team this year and very deserving I might add.

But I think there are a lot of Mtka kool aid drinkers on the forum that are clue less about the talent level and fire power that STA has this year. I find it very interesting that they dismiss last years game (as the two teams are basically the same this year) with that one went going to over time and STA coming out on top with a game winning goal by a freshman forward Krieger.

Last years game was about as evenly played as you could get in all areas and I expect this year’s game to be another close one.

Great game! STA doninated the first period. Tonkay seemed the wear them down the rest of the way. Two very quick teams!

Tonka ended up being deeper as the game went on the after the first period they did a much better job of matching lines as they were willing to skate their #2 against STA #1 and hold them scoreless.

As with #14 leaving for STA Tonka missed Holl so that was a wash.

Star Tribune stats are incorrect. Minnetonka way outshot STA in 2nd and 3rd periods, yet the stats show the opposite. Also didn't account for the empty net goal properly.
