Neutral Ice
I believe Anoka is a bit further away from Elk River than Proctor is from the Heritage Center in Duluth. Maybe next year they can play in Rogers...rink101 wrote:IT IS NOT ELK RIVERS FAULT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS.MAYBE THE GAME SHOULD OF BEEN PLAYED IN ANOKA.

Last time I checked the players on the ice win and lose the games, and not how many fans are in the stands. Proof of this was at the Heritage center tonight on the boys side where St.Michael Albertville came very close to beating the heavily favored Hunters and yet the Duluth Fans outnumbered the Southern fans By 5 to 1 or more. PHM was convincingly better than Elk River last Thursday, and it had nothing to do with the location or who was in the stands.

OK this maybe one example where it it is not true BUT I would take the home ice 9 out of 10 times and so would you. To me it makes no sense for a #1 seed to play at a lower seeds "close to home" rink. It should have been a neutral site and the Mn High School League should make the necessary adjustments depending on who wins, not at a predetermined site. Yes PHM played a good game but I think what we saw was PHM at the top of their game and Elk River towards the bottom of theirs.. just my opinionilike2score wrote:Last time I checked the players on the ice win and lose the games, and not how many fans are in the stands.
