Yeah, I try never to disrespect a team at state no matter how lopsided the game is.

They earned their trip just like everyone else, let the guys have fun!
Not to mention that if East and Lakeville North lose tomorrow, they'll be facing each other at Mariucci on Friday morning. I would have been more diplomatic even if I believed Minnetonka would beat North silly.

Well, Mike never has concerned himself too much with being a diplomat, has he?

Lakeview North had a pretty tough schedule this season ( http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/schedule/tea ... ason=16427 ). They are under .500 but playing a schedule like they do might help them in being competitive against the Skippers tonight. Tonka has too much fire power though IMO.

If Lakeville has one of those off nights...
North - 0
Tonka - 8

If Lakeville shows up like they did in sections and against Jefferson...
North - 1
Tonka - 5

4 Lakeville penalties in one shift. They call 1. The refs are trying to keep people interested. This Lakeville goalie isn't too bad by the way.

Tonka is such a deep team. It's great to see guys so don't grab the headlines to score on a rush like that. How about lakeville north's goalie? Kid is having one heck of a game even if it is 3-0 already.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I could have sworn Louie made a comparative reference using Phil Esposito and Peter Mahovolich.. Peter Mahovolich?? I bet I haven't heard that name since he stopped playing in the 70s...

And yes, Lindgren is playing well in nets.. At this time, 28 shots on goal..

Too bad ESPN already filled their hockey quota for the week with Breck highlights. That save was for sure plays of the week material.

If I gave the 4.5, I'd be screaming at their power play right now.

Couple minor observations by Goldfishdude...

Should I be more impressed at the play and desire that Lakeville showed, or should I be more concerned/disappointed that the "heralded" defensive corps of Tonka allowed 30+ shots on goal - and some of the quality of shots on Kruger???

While at no time was the outcome in doubt, LN has come along way from the team they were a month ago. Looks like the odds makers new what they were doing.

Not a bad prediction if I may say.

This day is perfect; Roseau lost, 1AA got dominated, and I'm on spring break. Things cant get much better now! Image Image

Oh and I believe section 1AA has now lost in the state tournament over the last 3 years by a combined score of 23-2! There really is no arguing this, this section is terrible and unworthy.
