Anyone know what happened to the Forest Lake coach? I always saw him coaching at the Advanced/High Performance camps. Seemed to do a nice job?

Spent 2 years in Edina. great place to coach and good for resume. the girls took me to the State tournament.
Confuzzzzed...........????

Let's see, Shattuck threw him out, Vail threw him out, SPA finally threw him out, Edina youth girls?? Looks to be heading in the wrong direction for being such a great coach..... just sayin!

Just a hunch, sounds like a guy who probably simply does the right thing and ignores all the BS from the parents. The ones who write the checks have the power.

Of course you know all the facts around why they "threw him out"
"Wrong Direction?" Non-paying U14 to paid HS coach????

Wrong thread bluewhite....this is about open coaching positions. Any news on Chaska/Chan from anyone? Why is EP still being talked about, their coach is still there last I heard.

Topic's been going for a page and a half and you call me out? Simply questioning attacks started by others. I'll go away now.

Eden Prairie Girls Coach Situation

Post by trump-ite »

backdoor wrote:Does anyone know if the EP job is open?
Most of the Eden Prairie Girls & Parents are tired of the current Coach being protected by the EP Athletic Director. It seems like every year the Coach gets caught & is only verbally reprimanded by the Assistant AD for using inappropriate language around the girls & for being a Bully toward the girls. Two Parent Coaches Assistants walked out of the Locker Room between periods of the first home section playoff game & told the Assistant AD to go in and witness a bleeping laced tirade directed at the girls. He was then suspended but they are calling it a personal leave of absences due to health reasons. If he keeps his job by whinning his way back in he will have to get new parent coaches for next season.

Why isn't Eden Prairie on the list? Have they found a new head coach?

What I question is why you would have parent coaching assistants at the high school level, and in the locker room. Cut the apron strings, use non parents assistants coaches. And by the way high school girl hockey players use worse language than the coaches would. Just sayin....

Would that be former Roseville Assistant Ryan Sauter that you're referring to??

The weakest argument against anything is to point out bad behavior in one place to justify bad behavior in another. Especially here when your using bad behavior from KIDS to justify an adult leaders bad behavior. I do think that many times the Kids are more mature than the adults at High School Hockey Games. The type of Assistant Coach does not matter, a good head coach has it all under control, & does not need excuses for anything. The EP High School Head Girls Hockey Coach coaches about as good as he skates.

It may be a weak argument- it is also the truth. I don't think vulgar language is OK because kids use it. I don't have a horse in this race, I'm not from Eden Prarie and don't really know anyone out there right now.

What I did notice is that someone kept insinuating that the coaching position is open "asking " about it when its pretty clear its not- just waiting for someone to wonder what they were talking about, just so you could come in and speak for 'most of the parents and players.' Maybe its true,
and most are tired of him. Maybe NOT. but I don't think acting like the coaching job is open on this thread just so you can trash him here is the right move.

I think our kids learn the most from their parents reactions to hard situations.

GHS - thanks for getting the thread back on track

1. Rochester John Marshall
2. Minneapolis Novas -
3. AHA - Jon Dundore
4. East Ridge - Craig Norwich
5.Chaska/Chan -
6. Bemidji -
7. St. Cloud - Mark Chamernick (was co HC)
8. St. Paul Blades -
9. Forest Lake-

11- Mahtomedi
12. Faribault

I don't want to be the board mediator here, but would it be possible to move the EP talk to another topic, like the "EP" one I brought to the top, so those who don't care about it, don't need to see it when we bring up the coach opening topic, as it's not open, and most likely won't be this year.

Is the Mahtomedi head coach position open? It looks like only Asst. and JV coach openings were mentioned above.
MinnGirlsHockey wrote:I heard today that the St. Paul Blades' head coach is leaving for a college job. Don't see a new job posting yet, though. Can anybody confirm?
The official posting is now on the St. Paul Public Schools website. There is also a posting for Asst. and JV coach.

Rochester John Marshall/Lourdes has hired Bob Montrose as Head Coach

Bob has been a girls hockey coach within the Rochester Youth Hockey Association, and an Assistant Coach with local junior hockey team, the Ice Hawks... Bob also runs the Graham Arena complex in Rochester...
