OK, no more quoting.. this was getting lengthy ..

I agreee will EHSHack as well as you.. Both were big wins in Big ways, and one is gonna be greater depending on your zip code....

GR / East is slowly becoming the rivalry East/CEC was .. SO to "US" It was a huge win.. But yes, we all know that Hill for the most part has had WBLs #, And its a HUGE win for you guys as well... Arent both schools on White Bear Ave? ( WBL / Hill )

No.

HM is off of Larpenteur.

WBL South campus is off of McKnight.

The Hounds have an easy run to the finals with the way things shook out last week. WBL will be fortunate to keep this one at a 2 goal margin. As much as I am pulling for the orange and black of White Bear Lake my hunch is it will not be that close of a game. I do not think White Bear has the defensemen to handle East transition and the team speed to force and pressure East, guessing a 5 - 1 game. Hope I am way wrong and the crazy stuff continues on at Excel. My vegas bet is that its EP - East final and if so that would be a great game to take in on Saturday night. Good luck to all the teams that made it in.

Not much (if anything) has been made of the coaching match up. Of course, there have been coaches who have won the championship on their first trip, but I think a coach with a lot tournament experience can make the difference in a tight game. Mike Randolph clearly has the edge here. Knowing when/how to get your team to chill out or fire up, making sure small issues that come up are addressed properly, keeping them focused, etc. These factors can be important, especially for a team that isn't loaded with talent.

Before the 1991 tournament, Jeff Whisler said that in the '88 championship game he felt like he was in diapers coaching against Ikola.

Well each team is guaranteed two games, so there goes that logic.

Just the teams which made it.

Although I am a Hounds backer for this Tourney; I will admit it would be nice to see WB break that ghastly curse of theirs.

Make it 1-17, Bears.

With that kind of thinking, the Wild have been to the Stanley Cup Finals, except they were the North Stars then.

Mariner were called the Dolphins. FL had the chance to play WB x2 and East once. I went to the games and this thing could go either way. My pick East 5to 3. Can't wait untill thurs. Seems like we wait all year for this.

Hey, if East looks past the Bears (which I doubt), 4-1 isn't out of the question.

I dont think anyone overlooks anyone in a state game, especially a team who just beat the states #1.

Not even looking past, just a 4-1 final either way is unlikely.

I'm going to be cheering for White Bear to go all the way...

However, I'm predicting that they'll stay hot and beat East. But maybe get overconfident and lose to Edina in the Semis.

I really hope that won't be the case though. I'd love to see the Bears win it all

No it was not the same school, WB Mariner, and WB high school were 2 seperate schools, but in the same city. Similar to other cities that have more than 1 high school
