Like I said, Dylan Malmquist scored two goals as Edina beat White Bear Lake 3-2.

Marshall Barnes scored a goal in the 6-4 Holy Angels' loss to Eden Prairie.

Elk River also lost to Eden Prairie, 6-3, but Jake Jaremko picked up a goal and an assist in that loss.

Wyatt Peterson scored a goal for New Ulm in their 7-2 win over Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato.

Dixon Bowen had 1 goal and 1 assist as East Grand Forks lost to GF Red River.

Zack Cole helped Legacy Christian down Moose Lake 7-3 with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Matthew Cowger of Hutchinson had 1 goal and 3 assists in three wins last week.

Gunnar Goodmanson had 1 goal and 2 assists in two games for Buffalo last week.

Two freshmen for Kittson Central have been moving up the scoring chart recently due to Teak's inattention to the far northwest of Minnesota. (Sorrylah...) For example, Dalton Klegstad had 1 goal and 2 assists as Kittson downed Park Rapids 7-5. In a 4-1 win over Eveleth, Alex Vagle had 2 goals and 1 assist.

I know it can be hard to compare talent for players that are different ages but how do the freshmen this year compare to the freshmen of the past few years in terms of skill and talent?

Please look back on page 2. This type of question was asked a couple of weeks back and I dug up the frosh scoring records for the past four seasons. Based upon points, this year's group doesn't appear to be as prolific as the groups from 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.

Oh yes, we certainly remember that. That is why the thread is called what it is. Not all freshmen are scoring varsity points!

But the really good ones are. There are some exceptions. For example, this Zach Yon of Roseau wasn't featured in last year's Freshmen Scoring thread because he was probably still playing bantams.

Don't worry; if you're good enough, you'll make the sophomore list next season.

MinnHockeyHub hasn't posted the BSM-Cooper stats yet, so I will go with what I was told.

Chase Jungels, if he really did get 5g and 3a against Cooper now has:
14 points from 9 goals and 5 assists. Duly noted.

Jordan Fralich picked up a goal and an assist as Silver Bay downed Bagley/Fosston/Fertile/Erskine/Mentor/Winger/Maple Lake/The Colony 6-3.

Gavin Payne scored a hat-trick in Orono's 4-2 win over Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato.
