South St. Paul 4, Warroad 2

Great game by the Packers - they become the first team in either tournament to beat a higher seeded team.

In our contest 7 of 19 picked them to win and they add 5 points apiece. We now have a three-way tie for first place:

1. Silent But Deadly - 29
MamaLlama - 29
21puCk - 29

4. puckskillz - 26
sinbin - 26
ayhfan - 26
Hockey8! - 26
KRACH - 26
northerngal65 - 26

10. FlyingWarrior - 25

11. MNHockeyFan - 24
hckynut12 - 24
fivehole628 - 24

14. mnhockey3535 - 23
capitalpride - 23
Otter - 23

17. Knight7 - 21
AV dad - 21

19. One with 18

20. One with 6 (missed Class A deadline)

In our next game (Breck vs. Red Wing) everybody picked Breck to win, so nobody will gain or lose points on the rest of the field.

Just looking forward to a well played, competitive game!

Edina vs. Roseville: No score after one.

Both teams play very good team defense and any goals scored could prove to be huge.

Roseville scores two at the end of the second period to go up 2-0. Until the first one, which came on a power play, good scoring chances for either team were few and far between.

The Skippers are controlling the play and are getting their chances, but can't find the back of the net.

After two periods it's still 0-0.

Minnetonka scores with 20 seconds to go to tie it up at 1-1. Headed to overtime!

(definitely the best game of either tournament, so far)

The pace definitely picked up in the second period as SSP took advantage of a major penalty call to go up 1-0.

Should be a tense, exciting 3rd period...we'll see if the Packers can hold on.

It keeps getting better, now 2-2 headed for overtime. Great chances and great goaltending at both ends. Breck did have an apparent goal overturned after a review upstairs.

Holly Korn scores on the power play to put Minnetonka up 1-0, after one. The Skippers have had the better of the scoring chances and seemed to get stronger as the period progressed.

So do we flip a coin to determine the ultimate winner, or as KRACH might prefer, set up a random number generator algorithm and decide it that way? Thanks for organizing the season's contests - fun stuff!
