All this talk about section and competition i.e. its the same with any sport, any level, ect. Look at Boys Hockey. same issue. some sections are much stronger then others.. Look at Major league sports. national league vs American league! how about AFC vs NFC for football.. Just live with it. If section & is a bit weak compared to others so be it, there may be a lopsided game or two, however the girls playing im sure are proud they are there and feel an accomplishment.

Fact is they finished 7th in a 10 team conference and have a weak section. At least adjust the section to have 8 teams vs. only 7. Some sections have 9 teams.

I am completely astonished by this blog posted by parents, let the kids play and when you become members of the MSHSL and can make decisions that you claim are "fair" then all will be right in the world. All of the girls in this state just want to play hockey, its too bad parents cannot shut up and let it be. The top 8 teams in their respected sections are tournament bound teams, so lets keep it at that and be proud of their accomplishments. The ignorance and jealousy need to be silenced. UNBELIEVABLE

I think all anyone wants for the girls is a level playing field, or ice that doesn't slope in one direction, as it were. You ask the girls and they want exactly the same thing; they're much smarter than some of you might think. So let the girls play and enjoy the game, but let's also substitute equity for inertia.
