I don't know if anyone said she is going to the Olympics. I'll let it play out but she is very likely going D1 unless some unforseen circumstance prevents it. That is my prediction and given some of the other girls I've seen that have gotten the scholarship, I think she is definitely on that path.pepperpot wrote:There once was a young girl from Mound

You made my point perfectly never. You think my opinion is "strange", yet you don't think its strange when statements are made, which they were and continue to be, that this 13 year old girl shoots harder than any girl at any level, and whose strength is compared to a full grown man. I will continue to call those who support that statement stupid, or ignorant, or on the pipe, and NO, I don't have to see her to have that opinion. It's crazy to even hint at such a idea. Be clear: I wish the kid all the luck in the world, I'm sure she's a fine player and I obviously don't blame the kid for the absurdity that has been written on this subject. Actually, I feel you numbskulls who are pumping her up to be the next Drago on ice is making a huge mistake. You are setting her up for failure and expectations which she may have a hard time fulfilling. On her way to D1, huh? So if she doesn't make it, does she view her life as a failure because her "Career" didn't pan out the way the powder-pant predictors said it would? Does "unforeseen" mean grades, attitude, burn-out, injury, leveling off, etc. etc.? Please spare me the pontificating. Based on the constant posts you write about different players I suggest you worry about the log in your eye instead of the splinter in mine. And get off the pipe, it will ruin your teeth.

I heard that the selection is heavily weighted toward one summer program. Is that because there was a disproportionate number of those kids at the tryout, or because those kids are better, or is it not true?InigoMontoya wrote:How many were there?36Guy wrote:It went great, it is really cool to see how strong girls hockey is in Minnesota. A lot of talented young girls and some really good hockey IQ's for 2002's. It's even funnier to watch two girls giving each other the business in the corner and then walk out the locker room looking like 70 pound Barbie dolls. Good stuff!InigoMontoya wrote:I hate to be the one to enter a post actually related to the title, but...how did tryouts go?
How many were selected?
About 51 girls, They were looking for 17..9F, 6D and 2G. Don't know final number though they were debating if they were all strong enough or if they were going to bring in a couple from another try-out location. My gut is they ended up taking 17 from Minnesota.InigoMontoya wrote:How many were there?36Guy wrote:It went great, it is really cool to see how strong girls hockey is in Minnesota. There were a lot of Machine girls there, which most of them are pretty good but other girls showed well too! I can guarantee you, I know all 5 evaluators and they could care less what sticker was on their helmet.InigoMontoya wrote:I heard that the selection is heavily weighted toward one summer program. In General most of the top girls in the Metro play on 1-3 teams in their age group...Just for the record, I am well aware that their are plenty of "top" girls on other teams as well.

Wow. So you are saying she is already heavier than every player on the women's Olympic team, including Hilary Knight, in 8th grade?Tigerhockey2012 wrote:Just a rough estimate she is probably about 5'8" maybe 180 to 190lbs. Do you know any adult males smaller than that? You've never seen her but you feel fully qualified to comment on her? Hmmm. Dad? No. Mine is about 5'3" 110lbs. Certainly not stronger than any adult male nor as big. A good player but not on the level of this one. Maybe go watch her and then get back to me.pepperpot wrote:Tiger, think about what you are saying. You're digging a hole. "She is definitely bigger than several adult males I know." LMFAO, so what?! Admit it Dad, you're reaching! LOL!!

All I can see going on currently, is that pepperpot acts like a jackass.
I would suggest everyone just ignores the troll and he'll go hide back under his bridge ... with his pipe ... soon enough.
Sorry, fresh out, Don't Really Give Any.

Hackley plays for the Ice Cougars
Albrecht is Lakeville South / Machine 02
Melz, Helling, Guilday and Bayless are all Tonka, I believe.
