I would prefer ALL of the privates play AA in hockey, but, that is not going to happen. The main reason is that the schools have no desire to send the boys into AA. The girl teams could playAA and boys play A but I can't think of an example of this being done.

The closest example i can think of,and it is not a precise fit, is STA playing AA and Visitation girls co-op into A.

Privates "winning" state shows nothing other than they recruited the right players. This might be a year when publics win both for boys and girls. A couple of teams up north are showing promise and some of the cities suburbs are tough. I don't think Blake will make it to the championship either will HM.

Just remember: It never hurts to be a homer. EP over HM was the difference...

Not a homer, but I actually had EP winning that one too (4-3) figuring it was HM's first game, away from home.:) But I thought the Pioneers would come back and beat Lakeville North at home... :( The Panthers appear to have righted the ship after they too opened the season with two losses.

Oh, I suppose EP on the AA side or maybe Edina. Goaltending is critical with all of the high powered offense in the TC and I think Edina have the edge there but EP is deeper and doesn't need as strong of goaltending. Edina versus Breck aka public silver spooners versus private silver spooners should clean some things up. I still don't think Roseau can pull it off at the AA level despite some good showings. On the A side I'll have to wait. Breck is looking real good, but Thief could be the one with Hermantown being a dark horse. We'll see how Thief does against Roseau and Hermantown this week. Both of those should be good games, and Thief should win both.

pepper and never, you're always welcome to enter the weekly prediction contest. It's all good fun, and judging by the fact that I've (rarely) won in the past, it means that anyone can do it!
