Country is the sh*t. Brooks and Dun's "Red Dirt Road" is amazing. Tim McGraw, Toby Kieth, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisly, and even the Dixie Chicks (except for their extreme political views, but that is another matter) are all great! Wessy, you know you like "Travaling Soldier". When Cooney is in the car, you can only hear his voice when I play that song. haha<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

it's so sad, but such a good song. Cooney is kind of a girl at heart! He also loves "Wide Open Spaces".<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

hockeyiscool--I agree with you regarding the new 'country' music (see my post a couple of pages back).

KodiakChew, if you think the Dixie Chicks' politics are "extreme" don't attend any Steve Earle shows. He makes the DCs look like Karl Rove disciples. Speaking of Steve Earle, who I was too broke to catch at First Ave. on Sunday, an artist that he's worked with that I really like is Lucinda Williams. "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" should have been on my list and that album is one of the best to come out in the '90s.

I'm not a big DMB fan, but Alpine Valley is an awesome venue and I'm sure it will be a fun show. I've seen the Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty and others there and I think anyone would sound good there.

And Lee, if you like Jason & the Scorchers, check out the Beat Farmers. They are no longer together, breaking up after the tragic onstage death of the legendary drummer, Country Dick Montana, but they mined the same country and rock that Jason & the Scorchers, with a little raunchier (and funnier) edge. I'd recommend the live one "Loud and Plowed" or the first one "Tales of the New West" which is closer to a traditional country sound.

starsalum, actually I do have some tapes of the Dead shows I saw but I don't think I have a complete show. I also have some really bad sounding tapes of the Stones show I saw there too...
