FF LF

Post by easternglow »

First of all, lets stop the boner talk, and oldschool, just to let you know, LF did beat FF 7 - 2 last time they met... FF might not even make it to the finals WDC is tough. I dont know how you can sence fear in that. If LF shows up to Alexandria ready to play, i dont think anyone is going to be able to keep up, im not a big fan of LF or FF, but the flyers TEAM is having a great season, not just their captains. If anybody besides LF comes out of this section, i'll be surprized...

section 4

Post by oldschool »

See now man, this is what I like, I actually get to talk to someone with sense finally, thankyou. To respect you for no trash talking and trying at least to present a decent argument, I will respond and explain for the tenth time what it is all about and why I don't think that Little Falls will come out on top in their best year ever.
I do give credit where credit is, Little Falls is a great hockey team this year and no doubt they have some of the best players around. It will be tough to beat the Flyers and whoever does it deserves to go to state. However, lets not make them so much of a favorite that they rival Moorhead, I mean no one has done that yet but it damn near is getting close.
Now, they have had their best season, however, lets not forget 9-1 against Brainerd, lets not forget losing to Sauk Rapids, (was it twice????), lets not forget that they lost to Sartell...... All of these combined with the fact that yes I did remember that they beat Fergus 7-2... but my point is that the two teams only played once. Look what happened when Little Falls played Brainerd again.
We'll actuall get a really good chance at comparing these teams next year as they play in the same conference then adn that will be fun, I just hope they keep their strongest non clc games in tact......
In any case, I will still bet that the one of the former champions wins this title, on the fact that Little Falls is playing down lately and at least one of the others is playing up (if Wadena wins on Friday, they will definitely deserve it)....and Little Falls will not have a good game untill then if they get that far.............

Oldschool - I really think you need to give credit where credit is due. Little Falls plays section 4A teams to get to state. Not anybody else. What they did against other teams is really not a factor unless you are talking about common opponents. All this nonsense dealing with the great play of Wadena and Fergus is getting old. Little Falls is now back to full strength and finshed out the season on a positive note. This week off will help them get even more healthy. If I remember correctly, the closest game that they had in the section was with Wilmar which was a 1-0victory. Guess what wilmar is all done and what little falls did to the rest of the section was to pretty much tear them apart (score board). I'm not saying they aren't beatable, i am just saying they deserve the credit for what they did in 4A and i am certain that they will show up these next two games and continue their domination of the section and give section 4 the best representation that they can have. good luck to all the teams and may the best one win

The combined scores of FF and Wadena vs LF is LF 18 Wadena/FF 3. Thats allot of offense to try and explain away or overcome. I know these games are already in the books and will have nothing to do with the upcoming games but they are more of a predictor of whats to come than hoping for LF to fall on their face. LF has the most explosive offense and the best goal tending of the 4A teams remaining and predicting their going to have a bad game is nothing more than a last gasp of desperation. Can Wadena or FF beat LF, sure, but their going to have to play their best game of the year, stop Festler and Lickteig, stop LF's second line, and their going to have to score allot more than the current average of one goal per game. LF has a history of playing their best hockey at sections and I have no reason to believe that will change. LF is healthy, hungry for the big win, and going into sections knowing they've already kicked all the teams remaining.

wells heres the facts, small falls posters are a little cocky, but hey if fergus or wadena was 8 and 0 in section 4a weld have a little of that too. Nothin personal small falls but we cant afford to care about you guys untill a war has been settled on friday night. Damn its a war i really hope wadena wins but theirs no facts i have to say they will. I agree oldschool fergus has a darn good team on the right night. And so does wadena. I wont pick this one. Small falls should win thier game praire central is improving but the falls are hot. No one has to admit it but we all know come tuesday night both teams playing will have hopes and fears, The chance of one player having a bad night could end anyones season. And the coment on the best section 4a goalie that belongs to the one fron central lakes. Probably not the goals against but for sure the save percentage, then wadenas was second. Goals agaist is more a measure of team defense and goal- tending combined.

8a playoffs this year i believe are in trf. They dont always use neutral sites. Maybe someone from up north can explain better but i think they rotate it. Something section 4a will have to change if alex moves to 4a. Those 3 games bring in alot of concessions ive heard over 12 grand in profit. That money should stay in 4a and give everyone a chance at it.

Boys, lets get over all the bitching on our board. Oldschool has had some very good points about playing teams twice like the Brainerd vs. LF game how big of a blowout it was the first time around, and how close it was the second. However we can not assume anything because LF has beat every team in Section 4A. The comment about Fergus not having any heart, well that is a joke, I know all of the FF boys and trust me they have heart, they work their asses off in practice, games, and in the offseason. What it all comes down to is that ANY GIVEN TEAM IN SECTION 4A can WIN ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT, noone is that much better than another team, it all depends on what team is getting the bounces or what team is just playing better on that night. LF should beat PC on friday night, and Wadsville vs. FF will be one hell of a game to watch.

haha i agree bitching is one of the best parts, but not when its about the same PLEASE BAN ME over and over and over again on how LF is so unbeatable and that FF or Wadsville has no chance on taking them on. Thats all BS. by the way whos "us champions" because if u ask me noone in 4A is state champions so I didnt understand what you ment by that. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Hey old school, remember back in the 7 year run of Fergus. How many of those years did they go undefeated in the section? Did you ever consider 4A to be wide open for any one to win? I doubt it. It is o.k. to admit that LF is the definite favorite and will most likely win the section. That does not mean there is not a chance for the other three teams remaining. Anything can happen and has happened in the past, thats why they play the games. Just understand why LF fans feel you are wrong to say that section 4A is as wide open as it has ever been.

P.S. I am sorry I don't meet you number of posts standards.

wide open section

Post by fiveholeshooter »

I think what he meant by saying the section is more wide open then ever is that anyone could win it. Like it's been said before several times. LF has the best record so they are the favorite...whoopdedoo...If my memory serves me so were the St.Louis Rams a few years back. Right now in this section, all 4 teams are
1-0. If the LF guy has mono they're hurting. FF is now getting all their guys back and it sounds like WDC is doing the same. In my opinion FF has had the benefit of the hardest schedule so they've played against better teams and the last few weeks it's showed. I don't think WDC can stay w/ Fergus 5 on 5 so if FF stays out of the box they will win. I don't think LF will look past PC so they will win too. The finals will come down to who gets the bounces. Refs, injuries, etc...I disagree w/ the post that said LF has the best goalie, i think swenson is right up there w/ him. probably about the same. The section will be decided in OT and I think the hero will be someone that nobody's mentioning.

Now that I've had my say what do others have to say that's INTELLIGENT, and not "NO! that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard!"

J. Festler has recently gotten over mono and is now with the team and all is well. I heard steve came down with the flu but nothing to make your panties climb up. They will be back to full strength and ready to claim the title that is rightfully theirs. Go flyers

Here is the deal LF isn't unbeatable but as jiggs said LF has outscored Wadena and Fergus by a large margin (18-3). This year overall against section 4A LF is 8-0 and 50 goals for 10 goals against. Also can someone tell me what the Wadena radio station covering the WDC/FF game is.

The Iceman
Little Falls 2005 Section 4A Champs.

Re: section 4 sites

Post by Locknload »

Yeah Pucks, that would probably be a better deal for 4a organizations to rotate the playoff site as far as generating a little profit. And most teams have arenas and concessions large enough to handle 2 games in an evening. I think the 2 exceptions would be CIA and WDC. CIA has practically no bleachers at all and WDC's would be adequat for one game but probably not two. Is Alex moving to 4a for sure?
