I got more whys for Govs than Lynyrd Skynyrd has concerning the excitement for the impending Vikings season when the Twins are just one Joe Nathan save this afternoon away from .500.

The Sox have been doing this for years, they beat the urine out of the ball for a week and then go on to drop 8 of 11 when the balls stop flying over the fence.

Interleague play, coming soon :D

The pitching isnt good enough to rely on pitching to win more than they lose.

Its only one series but to go from 2 back to 6 back real quick like that might be something a team doesnt come back from.

Its a long season....I hope not too long for our favorite team.

Please. I haven't listened to KFAN in years - day or night. Are you telling me that they're stealing my bits now?

No but the AM show is hosted by Mike Morris and they spend every day all year round talking about the Vikings.

I turn in to check it out and when they start talking about the Vikings 12th round pick in the middle of June, I just push a button.

Shutout?!

I think the only reasonable assessment of last night's debacle is that Jason Kubel wasn't in the lineup, so the game was over before it started.

No Jason Kubel... no runs. Coincidence? I think not.

Here's something that can keep us busy during the "anti-tear"... The best Twins to wear each jersey number (looks like it'll be a weekly installment, and 0-10 is this week's).

I think this guy has it about right so far... possibly Gene Larkin at #9 instead of Larry Hisle, but I may still be basking in the glow of a title 17 years ago.

Irishmans Shanty's 2008 Forcast

White Sox 92-70, Someone will surprise CLE & DET, Sox are the best bet
Indians 90-72
Tigers 87-75
Twins 78-84
Royals 75-87
White Sox
Twins 6.5
Cleveland 7.5
Tigers 10.0
Royals 12.5

As the Zamboni driver finishes up his last few laps before the second period of the MLB season get going, it appears as though things are finally rounding into shape. I hate being right. Anyway, the Sox look good, Cabrera, Swisher, and Linebrink were good acquisitions but this Quentin character has really put them over the top.

This could get ugly boys, if it already hasn't.

Score 5 or 6 but give up 7 or 10; give up only 1 and score 0.

That's what losing seasons are made of.

Yah, Jason Kubel.

Jason Boofin Kubel.

You gotta be kiddin me.

We wouldn't want Frank Thomas for $300,000 to hit vs CC.

No, we' d rather bench Jason Kubel becasue he can only hit against righties.

Jason Kubel.

Just the sound of the name is..... well, It's Like a Nightmare

Say... Just out of curiousity, if they start to turn it around tonight, and win 3 in row, does anybody know what the Twins' record will be?

Big game tonight...

Hmmm, lets just see now.

They win the next three. Get to all square, bring up Liriano and, just like in '06, go on a tear.

YES: IT CAN HAPPEN

BTW Govs, why dont you replace your goofy little signiture thing with this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc7VTA54C5s

Something you will never see at a Johnson game.

I'm stuck at work, and unable to to view what you've posted, but let me use my keen deduction skills to try and figure this out...

You referenced my signature and took what sounds like a shot at Johnson, so I'm guessing whatever this viedo is, it has something to do with CDH? So what's something that we would see at a CDH game but not at a Johnson game? hmm...

Is that a video of a stay at home housewife wearing a mink coat while exiting a Bentley?

Well, you will just have find out when you get home then.

As a hint: The video is stuff that occurs on the ice that you wont be familiar with from watching Johnson games, unless its the opponent doing it.

I doesn't contain any clips of mink coats nor Bentlys. We are more into rare Russian sable and BMW SUVs.

Have a nice Kwanzaa.

Ah... must be a video from '06 then? Couldn't be video from the past 2 years because I'm sure whatever it is wouldn't be seen at any CDH games over that span either!

On a semi-related note (unrelated to the Twins), I got my first taste of the Wayzata High School parents the other day, as a younger member of Govs' family will be in the Trojans' Cross-Country summer program, and there was a meeting for the families at the high school... I don't know how I'm going to be able to deal with these people for the next 8 years or so. It's a different world.

It would actually be only one year, since they were a ranked team that lost in OT in the section finals in '07.

But I suppose one down season is the same as 30 to a Johnson fan driving a Chevy dressed in a wool coat.

I was at that game - I remember it fondly. Don't recall too many purple highlights though, so I'm still guessing the video has to be from '06!

I traded in the '72 Impala last year because my neighbors didn't like the smell my leaded gas exhaust left on their H3's. They told me that it stunk worse than the Twins (clever segue back to the thread topic!). I'll miss her:

The car looks a lot like the Twins free agent acquisitons.

Old, no longer useful, and cheap.

Bring back the Pontoon.

Want another reason to hate the Yankees? Try this.

Give us another $300 million, or we won't finish the stadium?! These guys have a big pair.
