EGF is a pretty good bet to be top 5 in section but to come out of that section everyone but Warroad will need some help... I think that Bemidji is the only team with a realistic chance at getting past with Warroad but that is why they play the games right? Look at Eagan getting out of 5AA, Shakopee came out of their section a few years ago.... I guess anyone could do it...
WHY EGF ahead of PR??.....kinda wierd I thought...i'm not sure if u watched the EGF/PR game last year...one person beat their whole team haha...and we all know who that one person is

It was a 2-2 tie last year when EGF played Park Rapids and, Lehrke had one goal. I wouldn't call that beating their whole team.

Lehrke had both goals, they gave one of his to kohlrusch, but it eventually got changed, it was pretty obvious he scored both to anyone watching
I'm stickin;, (no pun intended), with the Elves......er....I mean..........
the Green Wave
I feel they will have the most depth.
Warroad and, maybe PR may have an outstanding player or two, but, this year, the Elves, (whoops), have the most depth.
Interesting, Warroad is returning 15 letterwinners from their Section championship team and EGF is going to be deeper? Right now EGF may be more solid in the nets...Warroad has 3 fairly equal goalies, one needs to be heads & shoulders better to win the spot. But I don't see anywhere else Eastside is "deeper". The Warriors return 4 solid D with 1 senior that's been playing solid, steady D since 10th grade in McDonald and 3 juniors with an Elite league player in Pieper and a tough, very speedy Milbridge and a steady Larson. You'll probably see Ravendalen, Shaugabauy and Hebel on the first unit to start with...some pretty good speed and with some improvement in the corner play could be a very good combo. You also have Hahn with some REAL speed, a laser shot and a knack for scoring goals that could plug in that first unit or center the second. A bruiser that skates well in Stoskopf and also a fast improving player in "Crash" Hellquist. I didn't mention everyone; the rest will make up a very solid three line Class A team. The B & G only really lost Marvin and the goalie.
yea i really dont think EGF will have as much depth as I hear some people say here....I mean you say Warroad and PR and a few OUTSTANDING players...and EGF has?....their net should be solid...but what have they gained compared to their losses?...im asking cause I really dont know...but Warroad will haev a good team and PR will be much better than last...so we will see
EGF is a very undisciplined team with no real great players and a coach that is not all there. Warroad is a much better team and has much more depth. Goaltending might be an issue - But they have Ravendalen-Hahn which are two great players. Mcdonald is average at best - big and slow. Hebel does not skate well enough to be a great player but he will be a good player - Pieper is a skilled player but has to stay home more. We better enjoy this year and next because after that it will get ugly in a hurry.
And you play where now? Ugly in a hurry? Being from Warroad you should know better than that. Many teams that are terrible there as Pee-Wee's come out being Section Champs. There may be some roster changes along the way but for the most part they seem to improve more than other communitites after the youth program. Besides after youth they just have to worry about TRF, EGF and now Bemidji and an upstart now and then versus you know who.
THere are going to be alot of suprises and upsets in this section this year. I think Crookston is going to be better than most think as well... We will see but dont be suprised to see some upsets.

Crookston has some good bantams coming in, Jon Bittner used to be a good coach, but he is an old man now .

would that be a good or bad thing? I think his wisdom and experiences will help quite a bit. I guess the only question I would have is can he relate to the kids and will the enthusiasm from him be enough...? I thoroughly believe that Bittner has the team this year to suprise alot of ppl. Beat Warroad.... maybe not but they could cause a few upsets.
