I'm not blaming anyone for anything, i just feel that there is a great amount on arrogance on the part of Hill boosters and they refuse to admit what's going on recruiting-wise. I love high school hockey, and hockey on all levels, there is just no love for the Pioneers on my part, and I feel that i'm entitled to my opinion.

If it was just common knowledge that players were recruited it wouldn't be as bad. Just lay it out like any pro team would when they sign a player (for example: Junior Forward X signed from Mounds View, will recieve two years free tuition). Full disclosure, that's all. :D
I seem to recall Hill doing so well in the seasons you are talking about that whoever was recruiting wasn't doing a good job. In fact the only losing season in school history happened then. Financial Aid isn't what is used to be I guess...

If you had an opinion, you would be entitled to it.

Just exposing you as a fraud.

Hey Sparlimb, your credibilty on the board is now down to zero. Imagine, going on a trip to the Carribean during the state tournament.

Get a rope.

Well, I'm sorry to say it is true. Just so you know who the true fan in the house is, my 11 year old son will not be missing his 5th consecutive trip to the state tournament. He's taking grandpa with although I will be home very late Friday night which means I could go watch my squad in the finals. Yes, I said could, because I'm not so sure they will be there either. If they are however, I'll be up all morning Saturday watching the games I'm taping. I'll drink a few Mai Tai's and think of you guys...

City, if you are so sure there is recruiting and you feel so strongly about it, I suggest you call the High School League and report it. Us guys and gals here, we're not really the right people to report that to. Being obstinate about it on an anonymous messageboard is often seen as whining...

Reason #8 why this is Hill's year:

Packer and Sparlimb will miss the first two games.

ok, fair enough, it is a little whiney, i just don't get how this can happen under everyone's noses. I will grant you there are bigger fish to fry (that is a gross understatment), i just figured it was worth discussing.

Reason #10 why this is Hill's year:

There is a chance that Hill will get to whip Centennial in State instead of the usual sectional cake walk.

Pistol,

Might want to rethink posting all these great reasons as to why this will be Hill's year. Doing it on a game day didn't work out so well last time we did the path down memory lane the very night they played SSP to a T. :D

I have not been on this bored long, in fact this is my inagural post, but no one mentions how blantently they recruit. Of course you can have this great hockey dynasty (this cannot be denied), if you are sniping a goalie from this school and your entire second line from another (this being back in 99-00). If this is deemed to be an acceptable practice, then fine, but then don't claim that you are all on a level playing field. A.B.H.M. (anybody but hill murray). :P
It's always nice to hear from Coach Sager.

Your 5 words above sum up the Hill-Murray hockey experience;

you need not say more,

except...

What is your squad's ranking?

What is your squad's all-time record versus the Pioneers?

How many times have you gone to State since 1975?

well, stupid comment by you buddy. My "squad" beat Hill twice in the state championship (also has 3 more state championships). Has a better all-time record. Has produced more D1 and NHL players.

also, they have a winning record against hill. 8) 8)

trivia: who would my squad be? I will let pistol pete here figure that out

WRONG...

Jefferson has beaten Hill once in a state final. Hill has more wins in the state tournament against Jefferson than any other team does (against Jefferson). A fan of what other team would be massaging himself over Mark Parrish? Jefferson does have a nice 16-10-0 record against H-M overall, but Hill has a 3-1 record in the state tournament. 5 State titles is impressive and Hill-Murray cannot match that. Your squad has as impressive a history as mine. Both have an undefeated team to their names. Hill does lead in state tourney appearances and championship round wins. All which are nice, but rings is the ultimate goal...

Pioneers are still playing (like they do so frequently) as the haters again will be buying standing room only or watching on TV (including everyone in Bloomington).

If you want to call 4AA playing, Austin would still be alive in 4AA
