Your very welcome!
I've been amazed at the people "surprised" by Hill winning. Many of us were talking in last year about the big green three this year. Hill definately had the talent, and Lech peaked his team at the right time.
Coaching often gets too much or too little credit. I'd like to tip my cap to Lechner, who knew what to do with the talent he had.
The only soft spot I see is the one between my legs

id love for them to all skate around out there in tootoos but it isnt figure skating. Get over yourself. They played physical, got called on it, and didnt allow a PP goal.
If you don't want to see hitting watch girls hockey. If you want to see Men play I have Hill-Murray on tape. I had to tape the games so I could wacth them again and again.

That really wasn't hockey we saw Friday night.
Unfortunately the players were told to hit the opponent at all times. Doesn't matter if the play is blown dead or not, and Sova was the clear leader in that department!!
Not a deserving champion in my book.
They have rules and refs. If you have a good powerplay, take advantage of dumb penalities. HM is extremely deserving. Sova can play on my team anytime
I think Sova may be available for your team. I don't think the D-1 teams have shown any interest.
However, I think he might fit in very well on a Sioux team coached by Hackstal and Eades.

I think you may be better suited for figure skating...less contact there. We didn't fear Roseau like the teams up north apparently do. They stepped on the ice with a couple of metro teams and got the butts handed to them. If ya can't run with the big dogs, stay up north!
im trying to imagine a 30-40 year old man smacking away at keys about how awful kids are for going to private schools. Real tough guys can do it over the internet

I liked how the Star Tribune had an unsung hero catergory and recognized Dan Sova for it. Along with Bo Dolan, they were outstanding at completely shutting forwards down in three straight state tournament games.

I really think you must be the smartest person on the planet.......
not sure what planet however.
Congrats to Hill-Murray and Coach Lechner! One of the best 3 game performances we have seen for a while.
I guess some people can't handle it when a city team comes out on top.
I phoned my congrats to Sparlimb last night from the Liffey after the game but I'd like to congratulate the Hill team and the rest of the Hill contingent on this board, it was a well earned championship.
It seems like I've read a lot of sniping on the board about Lechner and Phillipi especially after the teams' performances the last two years in the tournament but Phillipi came through when it counted this year. And the team had a good game plan that was executed to perfection which should put an end to the negative rumblings about Lechner--for this year anyway.
I wanted to see Roseau bring home a second championship in a row but I have to tip my hat to a Hill squad that played like a team the whole tournament.
I think most if not all will agree that those that can play hockey well do, those that can't play well fight or play dirty, and those that can do both, Win!
As my name implies, I am from up north and therefore I tend to cheer for the northern teams.
However, I wish to congratulate HM on their performance at the state tournament!
They obviously played a combination of tough hockey combined with enough skill to over-power the competition throughout the tournament.
When a team chooses to play rough, they know that they will generally pay their dues in terms of penalty minutes. This was certainly true in the game against Roseau, made evident by 18 minutes of penalties against Roseau's 10 minutes. Additionally, reviewing the game will show that HM was fortunate that much was overlooked.
Roseau was schooled in that game as I don't believe they expected their classy finesse style of play would be challenged with such a blunt, brute display of force, but hey, that's hockey! To top it off, HM was not without substancial finesse and skill of their own.
HM certainly prepared for what was required to match up to their opponents, and earned the title of state champions! Once again, congratulations!
I feel one point needs to be emphasized though, and although it was one isolated incident, it is imperative to point out the negative impact it has had on hockey fan's view of HM. I hope that Isaac Kohls understands that his cross checking attack of Aaron Ness rates as one of, if not the most chicken Sh#t move in high school hockey! I've played and watched and loved the game for most of my 47 years, and rarely have I seen such a cowardly violent act as that! 2 minutes for cross checking?! I'll end this post now out of respect for all.
What goes around comes around!
This exact same post wasn't all that great the first time around in the "Cidiots" thread. You apparently are taking a lot of pride in it though by using cut-n-paste. Aren't you tired from the long ride home to near Canada? Maybe it's time for bed.
