Stillwater 3 HM 0 .........Sobczak was in the zone for Stillwater glove was hot!. King is playing some good hockey as well.
Roseville 2 WBL 1 ........ Suprising game. WBL gave them a run and had a couple opportunities to add to the score, couldn't capitalize. Roseville's defense not as stout as last few games.
Final game should be interesting. Again, looks like its going to be a defensive battle and which goalie shines.

Hats off to Stillwater 3-0 over HM and Roseville 2-1 over WB with a goal in the last minute of play......should be another great game Saturday.
Last night Stillwater did a lot of things very well against HM - they went vertical quickly with the puck they were horizontal cross ice both in the nuetral zone and in the offensive zone. They also played great team D - HM did not get any shots off from the point to the net and they kept shooters largely outside. Sometimes a big game comes down to just a few key plays - last night Sobczak and King provided them.
Sobczak stopped everything as she was able to set up and see the puck - not sure I remember a single shot that she was forced to move lateral on - HM kept trying to beat her glove side and she caught at least 15-20 of the 31 saves that she made - unless Roseville can force her to move lateral they may face the same fate as HM.
King established herself as one of the top forwards in the state again - she had a point blank shot and scored on her own rebound for the opening goal and then knocked in the second goal on an incredible cross ice pass to the back door by Dahl - both were moving at speed. This was the starting line and best line for Stillwater last night IMO

#12 Allison Eder-Zdechlik, F 9 11-17-28
#14 Cassandra Salmen, F 11 11-17-28
Last night it seemed like Dahl played on the power play and then seemed to only take spot shifts not sure if she was hurt, sick or if Stillwater is just that deep?
The Stillwater D bent but never broke last night I think in large part to the ability of Sobczak to allow only one shot with few rebounds and the hard work of forwards coming back and doing their job in D zone. Based on the score board they were perfect.
Should be a great game on Saturday good luck to both.

I also want to express my congratulations to both Stillwater and Roseville on their semi-final victories. Stillwater was firing on all cylinders. The Roseville - WBL game was very exciting and came down to the last half minute of the game before a winner was decided. Good luck to both teams in the final -- too close to call.
As a WBL parent, it has been a pleasure watching this team play all year and stay close to the "big boys." I want to congratulate them on a winning season; and with the loss of only one senior, I expect them to be a contender next season. Thanks for a great season girls.

And congratulations to the girls from WBL and HM. Both teams played great and left it all on the ice. HM controlled play for much of the 2nd and 3rd but couldn't solve Sobczak (nobody can) and WBL bottled up Roseville as well as anyone did all year. No reminder needed that both these teams will be back with a vengeance next year.

Not sure what you mean by Dahl being spotted in. Stillwater plays 3 lines equally and Dahl never missed a shift. This is how Stillwater has played all year, running 3 lines. I also would not say Hill-Murray got the better of the play in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Stillwater dominated the first period and came out 0-0. The second period stillwater won 2-0. It looked like stillwater changed there strategy in the 3rd period with the 2 goal lead and became less offensive. I thought both goalies played extremely well as Stillwater was stopped on 2 or 3 breakaways. Should be a great matchup with Roseville as they seem to have Stillwaters number right now.
Two great games!!
Congrats to Roseville and Stillwater. It's a shame that only one these teams will get to go to state. Both great teams and very deserving!
Also congrats to Hill for a great season and who also would probably beat most other section champions.
For the record it looked like Stillwater was playing a high defensive center in the O zone after going up by 2. Never went below the circles. Great coaching. I thought Dahl played a lot and made a GREAT/SWEET pass to King on the top shelf goal. Nice!
Last but not least our girls from WBL (not WB) Thanks for playing so hard and never giving up. All should be very proud and be excited for next year. Go Bears!!
