I think this was a metafor for the ice is slanted and when the ice is slanted the puck would go to one end. That being the warroad defensive zone cause breck was completely dominatiing that game. I dont know I guess I dont find that one to funny. However, he did say alot of funny quotes where it seems like he just said something just to talk.gophers101 wrote:After Warroad tied the game against Breck at two
"You can see the ice has tilted to Warroad". Or something to that sort. It makes no sense at all.
And for all of you people getting mad about this thread settle down. Yes we all know its hard, we all understand that, but some of the things being said is funny. Why not give people another reason to let people listen more intently to the games and then talk about it after. I don't see a problem in it. I would bet you that everyone here respects and admires Housley for his hockey career and knowledge, and even think he is doing a great thing by getting involved in high school hockey. So just relax. If you weren't so uptight you would find this stuff kind of funny too.
Do you think Phil will be back next year? If KSTC management listens to the game broadcasts again and has a passion to try to make the presentation on and off the ice better, a lot of reorganizing is in order, you have to look at Housley, he was just terrible again, you would think that he might have been a little more professional with another year of seasoning but he was not, No, I could not do a better job than Phil, but having watched these tournements for decades, there has been much better color commenting in the past, (not Brian Bonin) there are reasonable expectations from fans and Phil has had his chance, though I would wonder if he would have improved his overly simplistic commenting and I also could not add my 2 cents to the "Phil Housley quotes for 2010" ps, did anybody hear Jim Rich from channel 9 TV in the twin cities do the play by play of some of the tournament games on "BOB 102 FM radio, he was pretty good, he mentioned players names most of the time as the puck was passed and shot and was very descriptive of the play.
Basketball, a great game for guys who cant play Hockey
