I'm a life long vikings fan so I've built up a tolerance.

I just like rooting for the underdog and for small towns that put a lot of time and energy into a program having succes, whether it's hockey or anything else.

Finally, how can their coach not get any game time for their backup goalie? Seriously. Not trying to rip the coach, but how can that be? Does she really exist? How bad is she if she can't play more than 60 minutes in a season where they outscored their opponents 202 to 15?? Is she really that bad or does the coach feel that much pressure to win and win big?
First off, it was a 5-3 and there was a delayed penalty, so in natural instinct the goalie took off for the bench. It was not an intentional pulling of the goalie like everyone is claiming. Second, the backup goalie for Warroad is a senior that is playing between the pipes for the first time in her life this season in order for the JV to have a goaltender.
Correct. I think it is more instinct For Amsley-Benzey. Even during the championship game she skated off during a delayed penalty call that was actually against Warroad. It could have been a huge mistake but luckily for Warroad it didnt't cost them a goal.

Amsley-Benzie skated off purely on instinct. Why criticize her for doing what golies are trained to do. The backup goalie for Warroad even started to skate off twice on delayed penalty calls. Are you going to mad at her now too.

The backup never played in the state tourney. The only time she skated off the ice was between periods. could have played some, tho.

Have absolutely no idea of Moorhead/Warroad situation (looks like most of these posts are a year old and don't have time to read the dozens of posts), just responding to original post question in a (likely overly) facetious manner. But agreed it would be fun to see them play again. I think Warroad wins easily in Class A, while AA is much more wide open. This again begs the question as to why not have A Champion vs. AA Champion for Grand Championship? Not saying this is necessarily a good idea in practice (yes, many cons to it), but would be fun to see hypothetically.

Not going to happen. Warroad had their chance to opt up but for some reason decided against it. They are a very good team that would have had a shot at being considered a great team (maybe one for the ages)…but now one can only speculate and debate their standing. Only teams that can claim greatness this year would be the skippers, Hornets or possibly the Red Knights…everyone else merely Cinderella’s

That explains why Hannah Johnston of Warroad was the one who ended with a broken leg.

As to why Warroad isn't in AA. Listen, the last chance they had to opt up was two years ago. They had never won a state title so I don't blame them for staying down since they hadn't conquered A yet. And they had didn't have a chance to opt up this year. Most likely, they will win the title again this year and I really hope they do move up after this year even though they will be considerably down starting next year. But I also doubt they will move up.

Nate, she broke her leg in the Bemidji game and that was before the Moorhead game.

This is confusing to me! I checked the standings and rankings and I can not even find the Roseau Rams in the top 20! Where are they?? Seems silly to me for the Warriors to model after the rams!!
