No doubt ER PWAs should be good this year but I think there are going to be a bunch of teams other than just the ones listed above that will be just as good or maybe even better. The core of that ER PWA team (if not all of them) got shut out by a team made up of 00 Machine players in the MASH league fall session and almost half the players on that Machine team are still squirts this year. Just one game I know but, I just don't think it takes a super deep team to win it all or be competitive at the PW level. 12 minute periods with no-check and all and I think a bunch of teams can compete as long as they have a solid first line and a decent goalie. These aren't "real games" anyway considering the length as compared to summer hockey. Even compared to 17 minute periods that would be the equivalent of adding a full 4th period and some change and with some summer tourneys going 20 minute periods that would be like adding another TWO full periods to a PW level game! Just my opinion but not so sure "depth" is going to be the key factor for a winning formula at the end of the day in at the PW level.Snoopdog007 wrote:Like I said earlier, I believe ER is the team to beat in A PeeWee hockey.ThePuckStopsHere wrote:@hockeytweet wrote:Went to Velocity tourney out of curiosity, and I hate to say I was right, "But I was right!" Big EP goalie holds Wayzata to 7 or 8 goals in 3 on 3, and EP cruises 16-8. But they have great balance, skill/speed/size.
Next game was good too, Maple Grove over Stillwater 21-16. Quick start by MG, and then pretty even. Both teams very good. Darn good.
And then Centennial beat Chan/Chaska 14-9. Snoozer.
Now looking back at the final scores for the whole weekend this doesn't look like much of an accomplishment. Thanks dad you spoke too soon
There will be about 10 other teams to battle for a right to plays the ELKS in the State Tourney Final in Alexandria. EP, STMA, Lakeville South, Stillwater, Edina, MG, Centennial, Wayzata, Woodbury, etc. will have to catch up to beat the ELKS when it's all said and done in my opinion. The real question is, which team has the most depth?
Who are the top 10 PeeWee teams going into 2011-2012 season?

Well it has been fun reading all your comments on who the best Peewee A teams will be for the 2011-12 season, but I am waiting for the real expert "Frederick61" to post his predictions.

Prior Lake played Lakeville North in Lakeville's tryouts. So while PL is probably a good team this was not Lakeville North full squad.Snoopdog007 wrote:Prior Lake 9-1 over Lakeville North - PL is definitely in top 10.

Fairly stated OT64- things should become pretty clear come December who the true top teams are. I expect Lakeville North to be in the mix. Most of the scores reported this early are flawed in some way.oldtimer64 wrote:Prior Lake played Lakeville North in Lakeville's tryouts. I think Edina, ER, & OMG are the top three as of right now. Many teams have not really been tested in this early season. Top three teams have depth, goaltending, and speed which are key ingredients. The next few weeks should shed some light on the top ten teams.Snoopdog007 wrote:Prior Lake 9-1 over Lakeville North - PL is definitely in top 10.

You have to put STMA in the mix don't you? I would put OMG in the top three. The EP Thanksgiving Tournament should shed some light on the early season favorites.buttend wrote:Early in the season but some cream is rising to the top.
