I would disagree. They looked pretty good against Maple Grove during the second period back in January.DuluthMMA wrote:ive seen 5 east games this year... wether they were outplayed or not, ,east seems to fail at every game in the second period... i dont think even karl or lee would disagreeduluth dave wrote:Give andover credit they played under tough circumstances against a very good team. Yes, that period was probably the best they've played all year. Probably one of the best periods in program history.HockeyGuy81 wrote:I would disagree. But they have indeed come out rather flat in second periods lately--tonight, the Elk River game, and against Cloquet a few weeks ago.

Both Teams had moments
Congratulations to East on making it back to the show. They did what they had to in taking advantage of a young team in the spotlight for the first time. Andover was clearly a herd of deer in headlights in the first period, being outscored 2-0 an outshot 17-4. They just didn't move their feet.
Then I give credit to Andover for waking up and playing a little bit. From the start of the second period until the Hounds scored the fourth goal, the shots were 18-15 and the scoring chances were pretty equal. East was clearly the better team overall.
So both teams got out of it what they needed. East is headed to State as a big favorite and Andover has a bunch of underclassmen who just got the experience of playing in a Section Final that will serve them well next year when all but 4 of them (hopefully) return.
