Puck you must know I consider you one of the most "well respected" hockey gurus in the mix!

Never meant to steal your thunder but more or less willing to "carry the water" for you once and a while!!

Thanks for joining the thread!!!

Would be nice to hear from Tinroof! Hope all is well with him!?

One of you informed B-E guys please inform me. Do kids move up and down from U14 to U19? Do they do that SSM?

Let me try again. B-E player movement from U16 to U19. Does that happen and is that what they do at SSM also? The Wolfman is multi tasking this afternoon and sometimes does not type what he is thinking.

Yes they have.

Wolfman,

In tier 1 your roster doesn't have to be locked down until the end of December so any tier 1 team can move players around. BE has.

I concur with Coyote. BE has been playing a few 16U aged girls up at 19U and also at 16U once and a while. Not sure if they can do that after Dec roster deadline or not. To my knowledge SSM never moves players up or down from 16U and 19U in an entire season even if injuries happen. They do roster 20 per team so they can go without if need be.

What's the interest in rosters?

Wolfman,

Just curious what is the question behind your question?

There is a separate board for this fascinating discussion. Why isn't this thread moved to that board?

Is it really a "conversation" though when the same two guys post back and forth under 4 or 5 names? Lmao.

SSM U19 VS CM 19U

Post by CoyoteWheels »

Final score of the SSM 19U VS Chicago Mission 19U

SSM 4 to CM 2 final score.

Tied 2 to 2 late in the 3rd. CM scored 1 on themselves then SSM got a empty netter to spread the lead to 4 to 2.

Great game!

My thoughts from the NIT...
I think it is laughable that you can take the MN HS Girls, divide them into 6 teams 3upper/3Lower (many quality players on the lower teams, just younger) really never practice systems or have consistent lines or rosters, rolls 4 lines in all situations & still competes or beats the Hockey "Factory"!!!! Shattuck certainly is not afraid to shorten there bench throughout the game...I hope many of those kids are going to Shattuck for the education and the right reasons rather than paying $45K a year to watch 10 kids play!
Going forward I hope there are more AAA opportunities in Minnesota like the Revolution to challenge the Shattuck teams each year for their free pass to Nationals...

The Herb Brooks mantra about the wider base of the pyramid making the top higher, it is strictly a numbers game and in that Minnesota wins. I think this is exactly why people get so riled up about Tier 1 and open enrollment in the sport. When you start to consolidate the star players you will inadvertently weaken the base and eventually the top. There will be years when SSM or Mission or whoever walks away with this and years with results like this but at the core it is exactly what we needed a chance to consolidate the top talent and play other top teams in a way that still allows for a the huge base that keeps Minnesota girls hockey strong. Thanks to everybody, volunteers or paid who got it this far and who keep making it better. Almost time to pick teams and drop the puck on the HS year.
