From the announcers, it sounds as though there are several several D1 players on the ice with the 2 privates on the ice. Question. On average, how many D1 players are on each of these private teams each year. Very impressive. Also, the stands don't look full. Just an observation...thestickler07 wrote:OT in St. Paul

It was almost full at the start. Thinned out as the game went along. The seating for 4000 is by far more than any previous HDM.

I think by all accounts it was a resounding success.

The bar keeps getting raised higher for this event with the job Elk River did and now the assets of the city of St. Paul giving us artificial ice and a successful event. With the Plethora of outdoor games this down home roots of hockey event is still relevant in the Minny. Looking forward to the next one.

I was in this thread earlier saying how I didn't like how the theme this year was getting away from the "pond hockey" nostalgia angle. While I do think HDM should go back to that angle I will admit this season with the military theme and the location was a great success. The games were excellent too. Both the A & AA class games were thrillers and the girls game was excellent. I don't watch much girls hockey but the level of play in that game yesterday was outstanding. Thanks for an entertaining day to all involved.

That first line does put up some impressive numbers, and the PP % is incredible ( 55%, iirc? ) But I really have a feeling once they play a Hermantown, Mahtomedi, Breck, EGF etc, it could be ugly come Tourney time
