Should never have left LN HS assistant position for the Magicians a few years ago. Grass is always greener though apparently.Defensive Zone wrote:Heard today Ryan Kraft put his name in the hat for the Vice President of Development in LHA.Sats81 wrote:Not sure. Oh wow. Sounds like a good hire. Hopefully he can get that program turned around back to where it was in the late 90s-early 2000s. Assuming problems they have there is a numbers issue?Wblhcky2424 wrote:Adam Welch has replaced his uncle at Hastings according to Hastings radio guy Nick Tuckner on Twitter

Unfortunately it's likely a singular issue, one parent is really bad. He has been a challenge through out the entire youth program and now at HS level.meat wrote:jg2112 wrote:What? 1) Hastings----
2) Mounds View----
3) Orono----Not sure if the coach came back? I think this is open as well.
Running away! I've heard the parents are as bad as it gets @ MV... it's a shame.

How does a group of parents continue to do this over at MV? and it's not just hockey. I was told this past weekend that one of these parents that caused issues was then asked to be on the new hire committee. Who runs the program over there at MV? Get the parents off the selection committee, this is HS sports not youth. Getting harder and harder to support my Mustangs

A few years ago they fired the baseball coach after they won the state tournament! Gotta believe they have administrators that have no balls!1parent wrote:How does a group of parents continue to do this over at MV? and it's not just hockey. Parents are that way all over. You hear about them going as far as to be all over things like Cub Scouts and etc as well. Seems like the same parents who get some power at some point early on and just run wild with it as nobody stops them or slows them down. Those parents will keep on doing it by basically being a huge pain in the a$$/bully for as long as they are allowed to. To be fair though I can remember coming up (an I am in the eyes of my kids really really really old) there were parents who tried the same thing but they seemed to not get as far with it. I think that (in my humble opinion) that what is bandied about as the corruption levels in youth sports being so high is partly true (we all know people who get on the board or do business with board members so that their kids can get on the upper level teams) with the other part of it being basically the board caving to bully parents who are so nasty and persistent that it is just not worth the hassle of constantly having to deal with them.
Just my thoughts.

To be fair, they did go on to win State again without him. But, yes, that was a crazy story.mulefarm wrote:A few years ago they fired the baseball coach after they won the state tournament! Gotta believe they have administrators that have no balls!

Talked to one of the assistant coaches and this could not be any farther from the truth. They are looking forward to the continued move forward, and get along real well with the AD.Some birds chirping that Brad Stepan is stepping aside. Feeling no love from some parents and/or administration (ie: AD). Anybody closer hearing anything about this one?
