May be true of their peewee teams, but the Bantam AA team is virtually all Chaska. Also, EP loses like 15 seniors. EP will be good still with a great sophomore class, but don’t expect them to run away with it.WestMetro wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 2:33 pm Agree Pitlick wont be back. And unfortunately Chaska/Chans dynamite youth squads will be splitting off to three high schools , so could be a while before another Hawk run.
Its going to be all EP in Section 2 AA next year. Middlestadts. And if there were any Batchelder/Holt doubters left, things should have been put to bed in recent weeks and yesterday.

He repeated a grade late in his academic life. As far as high school sport eligibility he has had four years of hockey. I will miss him. His speed and hands are fun to watch. That first goal yesterday was explosive. GBbardown27 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 2:44 pmCare to explain how Pitlick has no HS eligibility left? He is only a junior.GoldenBear wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 2:12 pm PitLick has no more high school eligibility. He will be down at Omaha next year GB

Chaska’s junior class had more success in youth hockey as a group. State tourney as PW AA’s and made the districts tournament as first year Bantam AA’s (pretty much all the top current seniors played H.S. as second year bantams).TheNightman wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 11:56 amChaska will be relevant next year as well, if Lavelle and Pitlick stick around.ryguyMN wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 10:41 amIt was probably Chaska’s last chance for a while. You don’t get four D-1 players on a roster everyday.JerseyDave wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 11:16 pm
Good point. One of them would've been a first-timer to state.

I’ve never heard that there are only 4 years of high school eligibility. Pretty sure there have been kids who played as who played 8th grade through senior year. ??GoldenBear wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 6:12 pmHe repeated a grade late in his academic life. That may be true but there is no 4 years of high school eligibility rule. Happens all the time in all sports.GoldenBear wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 7:00 pm Sorry no more comments on the issue. He will be in Omaha next year. GB

I lied I want to be clear. I’m not saying what you just said, you are and that is true. I’m saying something totally different. Red shirting isn’t allowed. Can’t repeat grades—red shirt and be able to play high school sports when you are——x years old. Those who say a kid can play for than 4 years are correct. Ryder Donavan is one of numerous examples. However, Mr. Bear is correct on the rest.GoldenBear wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 7:25 pmI lied I want to be clear. I’m not saying what you just said, you are and that is true. According to MSHSL bylaw 110.00:
“Students shall be eligible for participation in League-sponsored activities for twelve consecutive semesters (six years), beginning with their initial entrance into the 7th grade.
Counting Semesters: The student has twelve consecutive semesters for participation whether the student chooses to participate or not, and regardless of whether the student remains fully enrolled or not. The twelve consecutive semesters begin with the student’s initial entrance into the 7th grade.”
The bylaws also provide an example that if a grade is repeated at 7th grade or later, eligibility still runs out after the 12th semester.
The entire eligibility bylaw can be found here:

Thanks Duluth Guy for clarifying. Now I can get back to the Oscars and see if Fifty Shades of Free wins an Oscar. Great flick! GB

Pitlick is a few months older than Koster, never realized that.
Re: Play-off Games Saturday 2/23/19
Let’s summarize Pitlick discussion on a positive note , specially since Mom was right behind me at Braemar yesterday
He has grown a lot more in height and bulk this year , and speed and scoring ability really improved in each of the last two years. As GB notes , explosive is the term many use fir his first few strides , and hard to find many forces quite like him in elite league or high school ranks right now . I have heard from two scouts recently that his NHL draft number in June will be much improved from mid 100s in the January central scouting report, possibly as high as lower second round or mid third round. One said he’d be surprised if he was still on the board at No. 60. To be fair and balanced , another says not that high . No matter how things go, well done Rhett ! Our jaws have dropped many times seeing you move thru neutral zone , and split the D to the net
