As much as it pains me to say this, unfortunately people are focusing on the wrong statistic.
He is 5'9" and a goalie. Congrats to him on an excellent season, and all the best to him in his future.....

I will share my families experience and beliefs. it appears there are many versions of what we believe.... There are many reputable Family Advisors in the area who give free advice and council and become your agents should your child play NHL hockey. These relationships are handshake agreements, are...

Joey Anderson (HM) commits to UMD
Western College Hockey blog reports..."A native of Roseville, Minn., Anderson is considered by many to be one of the top 1998 born players in the United States. As an eighth-grader last season, Anderson started his season playing with the Hill-Murray JV, but finished the season in the Minnesota...

I think there are some coaches and programs that are extremely committed to making it happen for their players (D1 commitments), and work very hard to build connections and market their players. I believe other programs are more concerned with other things - business, money, winning, etc and if it h...

I will offer an opinion, but like anything else, you need to take it for what it's worth. Coaches call kids they are interested in....however they call many more kids than they have open spots for.....if you are just getting a letter, i would seriously consider how badly I wanted to try out. If the ...

I agree with many of these posts. NAHL teams tend to be older. And many players do end up getting opportunities because of their play in this league. I know many who have committed while playing in NA who then either go directly to D1 or are drafted for a year in the USHL before college. A D3 scout ...

Well said. whlscout. Traitor is a harsh word. If someone leaves a company for a new job, are they traitors? A family moves from St. Paul to Chicago....traitors? To call any kid a traitor for making life decisions......wow. While I hate to see kids leaving High School to develop, the reality is, thes...

This data was cut and pasted from another site. Sorry. While people could go through this list and assign birth years to each player, this list only looks at players committed next year and beyond as of this point. It doesn't account for those already playing now. If we look at 1993 birth years, thi...

MN Grown D1 College Commitments and where they played
There is always talk about how many Minnesotans become D1 players, and what is the best routes to get there. I believe this was published in Let's Play Hockey. Minnesota-Grown College Commitments (2012 and beyond) Men’s Division I Total: 90 (USHL 28, HS 23, NAHL 18, BCHL 11, USNTDP 6, Shattuck 4) Na...

Lechs is an excellent coach, but also give credit to Pat Schafhauser. All the players that come through HM program realize what a huge part of the equation he plays. Outstanding hockey player, excellent hockey mind, and phenomenal role model for the team. Way to go Pioneers!! You did yourselves proud!

Just to make sure everyone is clear.... youth hockey players have no choice where they play. Even if they attend private school, they are forced to merge into the local city youth program by Minnesota Hockey. The first choice they have to play with their friends is at the High School level. The trai...

This birth year sent 5 kids to Europe last summer.....I am not sure it is fair to call it a down BY. If you look a little closer, Minnesota Hockey only sent 1 of those 4 forwards back to Nationals this year. They sent a whole new crop of Forwards. Last year, 5 kids in top 10 scorers. This year, zero...
