Congrats to District 2 (16 players), District 16 (15 players), District 8 (13 players) and Distrticts 5&10 (11 players each). While it may be hard for the average fan to pick out the top players (especially 102 from approximately 240), it's not as difficult to pick out the top 10-15. From my st...

I don't know any of the dates yet, but I did hear that our district will be run by a guy that throws water bottles on the ice in games that don't go his way. Is that not a role model or what? Who could imagine that a 14U coach would have the ability to make all the decisions for all the varsity 93 p...

Agreed.
You guys are slow learners. Feste isn't the best foward on her own team. Mail this award to Bemidji already. Start a new thread for runner up.

It suprises me the number of HS coaches that still work on the developmental aspect of the game. If they would truly coach to win, they could weed out the dead weight by not offering them any optimism to continue to play. In two weeks, we will see the coaches who have it figgered out. Hey 4, your k...

Re: post 9433

To me the award possibilities have shrunk quite a bit, but I know that I don't have a vote. I really like these: Kelly Wild Sarah Erickson Emily Erickson Kate Bacon Ashley Duffy Montana Vichorek I am not at all saying these are the top 6. I am just saying these are six seniors I really like. This y...

She must be good but my grandpa could be good with that schedule. She could play in front of a soccer net most games and still have the same numbers.

Hey Roll4, you must be rolling something. Most coaches have an open door policy. You open the door for them!! They don't want to listen to what the player has to say. These players get labeled as "whiners" when they adress these issues with the coach. Unless your hometown has a "blee...

Re: Penalty Leaders why do they get such a bad rap?

Interesting facts that I picked up reviewing the MGHCA website. These numbers are as of 1/13/08 and only as accurate as the MGHCA information. I pulled the top penalty minute players, used seniors only, and players with at least 10 points. This is a complete listing of all senior players that fell ...

Yep, that is something certainly to be proud of. Being some of the top women goons in high school hockey. My guess is they are being sought after for something more than just penalty minutes. Of these "commitments", how many are scholarshipped? :? Heres the bottom line, the reason they ge...

The Tie Between Roseau And Crookston Basically showed poor goaltending. Roseau's goalie has not let any more than 4 goals in all season with the Exception of Eden Prairie. So, that game just was not her best. Every team Knows that Crookston plugs up in front of their net because of their lack of go...

Re: Wangen fights Back

Star Defender for the Crookston Pirates Lexy Wangen is continuing to fight back from her bout with West Nile Virus. Wangen has been told by doctors to expect a full recovery , but that full recovery may take as long as one year. Wangens' father Bruce, has indicated this is very frustrating for Lexy...

With Dahl out, I don't see a close game with Crookston as surprising. Although she is not their only solid player, she is a big part of the team. Dahl would have made a difference but Crookston was also missing an all-state player with Lexy Wangen not playing. Game was back and forth, shots were 20...

The EGF coaches quotes have been intersting in the GF Herald. They have been passing the puck better and being less "selfish". Thing is, they have also not been scoring many goals. Loss to Moorhead and a 2-0 win over a very subject Detroit Lakes team. Maybe it has to do with his comment a...

Re: Top Snipers

Who are the best shooters around? Those players that have a quick release and have a good idea where the openings are. It seems like the goalies are ahead of the shooters in the girls game. Callie Dahl is one of the best I have seen so far. Also, Liz Burg had a pretty good release. The Mankato girl...
