otherwise it will be the earliest playoff exit for Hibbing in their Class A history. (I think) Hibbing was eliminated from the quarterfinal in their own building by Hermantown in 2002, the first year they dropped down to "A" They'll be lucky if they're in their own building this time around.

You do see a lot of kids at the rink, but it seems like 1/3 of them, regardless of age play no organized hockey what so ever. Could be any of the reasons stated above. Another issue is every parent thinks you need $500 skates, Composite sticks, and all of that fancy stuff. You could get a lot of stu...

Would love to see him take the job in Hibbing, now that DeCenzo has stepped down. Leave Cloquet in the dust.

You loyal Esse fans, I would be careful about what beer you buy.

I think a big thing is, the Youth associations that shorten the bench to two lines for the "A" teams. Alot of parents and players get pretty discouraged when they travel to North Dakota or the Twin Cities for a three day tournament with hotels at 70-80 a night, meals for three nights, ente...

Thanks for the anwers, but now I must ask, who will fill Centrals spot in 7A? If they fill it at all. I think Proctor or even Hermantown would be nice editions, or both. 5A is the most geographically screwed up section in the state, and I think travel wise it would be beneficial to Hermantown and Pr...

7A Next Year??? Denfeld Trojans??

With what is going on with the Duluth school district, do you think the state will move Denfeld into Central's spot in the section? I would think it makes sense.

As for Hibbing D-1 players.
More recently, Shea Walters playing for Bemidji State University, pretty much a shoe in to be in the WCHA next year; and Travis Weber, who was a goaltender for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
So much for that theory that Hibbing hasn't produced D-1 talent.

I guess I fail to see why anyone would disagree with these seedings. I think that they are pretty much right on to what I and others have figured through the course of the season. 1. Virginia (Split with Hibbing, Falls, wins over Marshall, Greenway (2) victories over Grand Rapids and Albert Lea) 2. ...

The problem is, you throw your JV team in there and other kids who don't get varsity experience or don't have any goals on the year, and what do you think they are going to do? They want to score!!! This might be the last time some of these kids ever play hockey. I would find it hard for a coach to ...

I believe that Josh Johnson was from Esko High School. ANd Head Coach Dave Esse is actually a Physical Education teacher at Carlton. It seems that C-E-C has a decent amount of players from each school. Does anyone know if Carlton still has a Junior Gold team?

I think the system is fine the way it is. But I have always had this idea.

8 Sections
The top 8 enrollments from those sections and anyone that wants to opt up.
