Of course private schools recruit. They have to recruit for all of their students. this is a very good point. you are correct. private schools are all about recruting. do you listen to the ads on MPR? every other one is for breck, blake, and spa. same ads in a number of local magazines. they recrui...

Students that attend SPA fill out FAFSA forms to see what kind of Federal Financial Aid they qualify for. They tow the line. What line are they towing? There is not Federal Financial aid for private high school. The FAFSA form is used by many schools to determine need, but has nothing to do with Fe...

minor consumption and dui are 2 totally seperate offenses. someone under 21 can get a citation for minor consumption without driving. but a driver who is under 21 and gets a dui also gets a consumption citation. it is not varying degree of punishments for the same offense. they are 2 totally differe...

i do see your point. I just don't agree that they should have different levels of punishment depending on the extent of braking the law. Not when it comes to teenagers and alcohol. the rule is zero tolerance. Is it o.k. to teach our young people that it is o.k. to break the law - just don't break it...

It's a bit odd in the sense that driving a vehicle while intoxicated is by orders of magnitude a far more serious offense in society than having a beer or two as a minor -- thus the legal implaction of DUI vs. a minor consumption and the penalty difference the law applies, yet the MSHL treats them ...

What I think is interesting is the rule doesn't differentiate between alcohol offenses. For example, one kid could be picked up at a house party, blow a .02 or something really low and get a minor. Another kid could get picked up with a .20 while driving a car and the punishment is the same. That s...

The Gophers have two national championships and a frozen four appearance with Lucia's recruits. I don't have the stats in front of me - but if i recall corectly - you are incorrect. Most of those recruits from the 2 national championships were Woog recruits that Lucia inherited. can someone do some...

There are players with Bantam eligibility as Sophomores. MN Hockey goes by a July 1 date - schools use September 1. So kids born in July and August - and started school on time and were not held back by their parents, would still be eligible for Bantams as Sophomores. This discussion would probably ...
