What I was getting at is that it's my understanding that Ely has some nice players, but none at the level of a Fink, Stellmach or Levar from a few years back. Add Jankowski to that list too. If you disagree, that's certainly your right. It's a matter of opinion. Ely made it to the section semifinals...

From what I understand, Ely has a few nice players but the problem is there aren't enough of them, that the team is very young, and they don't have the true standouts that they had from years back such as a Fink, Stellmach or Levar.

Eveleth-Gilbert 8, Ely 3 tonight at Hoyt Lakes.

Heard part of the game on WELY. Sounds like Ely's lack of depth hurt them a lot tonight. I'm surprised because Eveleth lost so badly to the Falls. Expected more of an even game.

Nice wins for the Timberwolves. At Eveleth Tuesday and Greenway Friday. Both appear to be very "winnable" games.

I'm an Ely hockey fan.

Hopefully the younger players don't get discouraged and they stick it out, and hopefully the numbers are built up in the program.

I hope the Wolves have fun, enjoy the season and taste some success.

In 7A, one through six were pretty much cut and dry. Greenway deserved the 6 over the other four on the basis of its wins over Falls, Two Harbors and Central. 7-10 is where it gets a little muddy. Going by results strictly within the section, Silver Bay should be 7, Two Harbors and Ely would be tied...
