My understanding is that the "play to the whistle" does not apply if the goalie is in control of the puck and it is covered. Slashing is still slashing and spearing is still spearing, even on a goalie, whistle or no whistle. The original point is valid this is not called as often as it sho...

Also, while they are not in MN, there are plenty of good public Div III schools just across the border in the UW system. Didn't see the warm ups, so I can't comment on the possible injury. But, "gmom29" is correct that a goalie is not simply a target for the shooters to warm up against. Watch a college or pro game and see how the skaters warm up separately, while only a couple of them warm up the goalie with...
