No they couldn't. The best teams play the toughest schedules. The best teams play in the AA tournament. My point is that Breck isn't the only elite class A team and them alone moving to AA doesn't fix this "problem" We will never know who the best team is? Give me a break! Breck and Edina...

This is a joke right, there is no way breck would even compete day in day out with AA teams. The reason they are A is that they know they would not even make the AA tournament. A Class hockey is a joke one or two good teams, the rest would not make the top 40 in AA. So you beat #39 and # 38 in stat...

Muckie, and for those that have also stated this, ABSOLUTELY!!! As the way the system is setup, they cannot make this argument since there are two teams that have won their final game. Seek and Destroy offered awesome analysis by showing the schedules of Breck and Tonka. I don't have it at my finge...

They did what they had to do to win. Yes, Krueger made some nice stops but last time I checked your goalies play is part of your teams play. HM had a good plan to slow tonkas forwards and offensive d down and it worked, almost. Why were they so lucky? Because a goalie who has a 93 or 94 percent sav...

Hermantown is impressive. Solid depth and the entire team can skate. Should be an exciting final two periods.

Master8- What was the point of offering up the question if you were just going to argue with everone that thiknks they are not the best team in the state? You already have your mind made up. Sure, Breck is very solid up front, but so is Tonka, but what puts Tonka above everyone else is arguably one...

Not even a question for consideration. . . many of the other powerhouse private schools have chosen to play AA. To have the benefits of choosing who you (cough, cough) enroll, and then playing A and debating if the school has the best team is ridiculous. . Breck is smart in staying in class A. They...

Saucepan, you're crazy. Nelson is def one of the top players in the state, if not THE top player. You honestly think there are 19 other players in the metro better than him?

what class by breck score to make it 11-1 with 10 seconds to go serious review to be done here Are you kidding? This is the boy's state hockey tournament, not a girls scout contest. Take your crying about class elsewhere. What would you want the coach to do, tell his kids to let New Ulm score? Brec...

We'll never know; Breck doesn't schedule teams like Tonka and the MSHSL isn't going to schedule a A vs AA champion. Blake, Holy Angels, Hill, BSM seem to get some top teams on their schedule but Breck is still having trouble. Tonka could look good and win every game 9-1 too if they played Brecks sc...

Breck had one bad night against STA. Based on what I saw with my own eyes last night, Tonka was lucky to escape with an OT victory over HM. For 3 periods of regulation HM was the better team, hands down.

Is Breck the best team in the state?

I'm sure the bashers will be out in force, but it's an honest question for discussion. They have only lost 2 games all year, and one was to a Shattuck St. Mary's team that could probably beat alot of D3 schools. After watching all of the AA and A state tourney games I would have to say that the spee...

Give it a rest! Everybody knows privates have a HUGE advantage attracting good hockey players. All these Einsteins just don't happen to be above average hockey players. Make them play in their own conference together and have a seperate state tourney like they do out east. Than I just wonder how ma...

I would give them credit if the players on the team grew up playing in brecks area youth leagues. there are no breck youth leagues idiot. its a private school. say the same thing for Holy Angels, STA, Benilde, Cretin, Hill Murray, Rochester Lourdes, etc. etc. guess what, this is America, private sc...

Re: EP vs BRECK ?

What would happen if the AA champs played the A champs? This would mean the A team got a free pass to a shot at the real title. Beating Delano, Rogers and Mound to get to state is weak. Breck earned their title but needs to move to AA if they ever want respect. Same goes for the other A privates. H...

Sure, they could beat EP in one game, but I don't think they could win three games against the AA teams like Blaine, EP, Moorhead, Duluth East, Hill Murray, Cretin, and Edina. I think Warroad, on the other hand, could compete for the AA title, both because of their section, and that they are a stro...

I don't think there is a faster player in the state than Rehkamp. he can flat out fly. very impressive when he has the puck on his stick. also, would loved to have seen him in the WCHA instead of Air Force. I can't believe he wasn't more highly recruited.

The way I would put it, is that the best A teams are better than all but the very best AA programs. Teams like Breck and St. Thomas get in trouble when they start playing Edina, Jefferson, Eden Prairie, Centennial, and Holy Angels. Unless it's a very off year for any of these teams, St. Thomas and ...

EP is by far Edina's biggest rival. You couldn't be more wrong, I guarantee if you ask any Edina player who their biggest rival is they will say Minnetonka and Minnetonka players will say Edina. No, It's EP Agreed. Minnetonka - Edina would be more of a rivalry except for the fact that historically ...
