Seven years of hockey for my youngest and he has only missed one practise due to a unavoidable conflict. If we expect coaches to have time management skills and commitment than I as a parent would expect no less from the participant.

The core of the Canadian teams will have been together for 2 seasons prior to entering the Brick.[/quote]

? That is a blanket statement as many of the Canadian teams are actually only together for 4 weeks before the tournament. The players play for their own spring teams.

Should be great competition, but I think the 98 Wolverines will take this division. For some reason they slip under the radar, but they have some unbelieveable talent on this team. A few weeks ago in Vancouver (Challenge Cup) they easily walked into the championship game, outscoring their opponents...

Manitoba starts in Squirts and the reasoning is that they teach them to make contact early before they are big enough to actually hurt somebody by doing it. By the time their players have hit puberty they know how to properly give a hit and how to defend themselves. In Manitoba hitting begins at Pe...

Actually in Quebec there is no checking at the PeeWee level. And under review in the city of Calgary in June.

One must ask themselves why is it all the Canadian provinces, California, Chicago, Connecticut, Detroit, and Chicago all manage to put the kid’s interest first and not deny them the opportunity to do the tournament. Only in Minnesota is there an issue... The Blades will not lose their charter as the...

Pretty sure spring hockey was created to get away from the association philosophy Actually I would disagree with that. Spring hockey, like summer hockey, was created for two reasons: Winter hockey ends in March so there is a demand for more and there's money to made. I don't think Showcase started ...

Yes that is what spring hockey is thus I don't comprehend the negative comments about the Monopoly organization picking up players.

To my knowledge the championship team in the 99 age division is a rent an all star team. Both the Bauer teams were a collection of poorly mix match hockey gear.

just like teams in Canada do it, and those teams seem to have to have the best success, right? ![/b] The Canadian teams are actually formed the same way as the Blade’s team. The recent onslaught of the Blades program appears to be sour grapes over the Brick tournament and the fact is the Blades have the rights to the tournament. This doesn't mean your little Johny isn't a good hockey player.
