Thanks; always appreciate the more technical ratings (knowing that the iterative nature will produce increasingly more accurate results throughout the season). It would be interesting to compare the rankings of KRACH, LPH, QRF and whatever else might be used these days rankings at regular-season-end...

It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. Coaches leaving successful (everyone has a different definition, I understand) programs. One thing I wonder about is the link between the youth and HS programs. Granted, some HS don't have youth programs and acquire their players in other ways. ...

I'll bite sin. 1) attendance records at nearly every session in both classes at the state tourney 2) seeing respected but struggling programs bringing in new female coaches with personal high school and college playing experience 3) high school programs teaming up with girls association teams to me...

Best 2015-2016 Stories
I'm sure someone is just about to create a post about 2016-17 favored teams to win the State tournament, but before that happens, let's take a few minutes to review 2015-16. What were your favorite stories, most pleasant surprises, positivity, successes, etc. for Girls High School hockey? We spend a...

Why can't the girls go to Tier 1 and Tier 2 like the early 90's in boys? Take your 120 teams and put them in 8 sections made up by geography (mshsl rules) and seed them all 1-15. Top 8 from every section goes into Tier 1 tournament. Seeds 9-15 in each section go to the Tier 2 tournament. Naturally,...

Late to the party, but again, how does playing well in 2 games on TV equate to being the best player over the preceding 29 games? And doesn't the voting take place prior to the State tourney, so that all players are equal candidates (i.e., some don't get an unfair advantage of 5 additional games, wi...

Well, this helps salvage what has been a disengaged and subpar season by my standards, but still great fun was had week to week. MNHockeyFan, thanks again for running the show, great (and classy) commentary, quick updates and a fantastic job of herding the cats. Let's connect in the off-season and s...

EPDad, congrats, it is good to see a Lake team again in the finals, as we have for so many years now. Also, the Tonka 3peat continues to stand alone. An EP/HM final would have been intense, but I think a final of any of the 4 semi-final teams would have been compelling. I sense that EP would gladly ...

The answer is professinal statisticians. However, the money isn't there so it's a wild west. Compare assits to +/1 (e.g., the number of assists for players who were on the bench during the play), the people who try to give both a 2nd assist and a goal to the same player (most of those are nipped in ...
