Dressing for varsity
Our coach tells certain kids (JV ) they can dress up for varsity games only to change his mind at the last minute. Needless to say, this causes hard feelings. This coach does this with every game. Is this normal? or weird?

This is Coach Randolph's golden year. This is what he has worked for since his son was small. He took a group of kids, worked hard with them for many years, and this is his payoff. This year is the most important year for Coach Randolph ever. Denfeld... they are going to need to combine with East fr...

I agree. Embarassing another team is not sportsmanship. But this is a new day now. Seems everybody is out for themselves, to be the best, to be at the top of the game (to see their name on the list). It kind of goes hand in hand with checking from behind. If you lose your morals (sportsmanship), the...

I would rather not to be too cocky that they will win State but time will tell. Like I said, clearly they should go to State.MNHockeyFan wrote:Don't go too far out on that limb...they're the clear favorite to WIN State, let alone get there!SportsNorthFan wrote:East is going to State again...my prediction.

Coach Randolph has taken most all of these kids since they were little and has worked with them through today. He has his summer camp that he only works with East kids. Now that is committment. He is consistent in what he does and he is serious about hockey. He wants East to be the best and that is ...

There is girl hockey and then there is boy hockey. Nothing is going to change there. This is an unfortunate freak accident that happened. Just like an unfortunate freak car accident. Illegal checks have gone on for years and years. It's not right but it's a part of hockey. The players need to be con...

What I am seeing is most hockey coaches pick the fastest kids no matter what the size of the kid. We had big, fast, and strong players that were cut from the team. Can the kid take a hit from behind or is he on the smaller size? I believe it boils down to the coach for picking his team. Now all the ...

Denfeld
Denfeld is having a lot of trouble this year. This is the year they should be doing really good as their Bantams went won 3rd place a few years ago. Would have thought coach would have utilized that. Bowen goalie is looking really good though. Season not over with...miracles could happen I guess. Th...

1 on 1 personal hockey coach
I was just wondering how common it is to have a 1 on 1 hockey coach on off season? I only know 1 kid, Connor Valesano who has had one for several years. But it looks like it is paying off for him.

Varsity ice time versus JV ice time
I was wondering if this is normal for our high school hockey team to have 2 hours and 45 minutes set aside for each practice with JV getting 45 minutes and varsity getting 2 hours. JV and varsity are not intermixed either at all. I don't see skills being improved much on the JV team. Just wondering ...

JV ice time
Our high school hockey buys ice time for 2 hours and 45 minutes at a time for practices. The JV gets 45 minutes and then they have to get off the ice and the rest of the ice goes to varsity. Is this normal for the most part? I don't see skills improving with this amount of ice time (albeit better th...
