The demographics have changed, all you have to do is look at the Mpls/StP area, teams that were power houses back in the day are gone and teams that were either not in existence or were barely there are power houses now. DAHA needs to let evolution happen even if that means letting a hated private ...

Nice post Froggy. In all fairness, though, Hunters have benefited from a few transfers themselves over the last few years.... nobody however will benefit more than Marshall over the coming years. Hermantown will have a bit of a lull here at the same time Marshall will be revving up. They have had a...

Seriously???

4 Mite 1 teams
5 Mite 2 teams
4 Squirt teams
3 Pee Wee teams
3 Bantam teams

Yeah, that sounds like a association that barely has enough teams to fill a Varsity and JV to me too.

We typically have barely enough kids tryout to fill both HS and JV.

I don't care where you are drawing from. If you have 7 Pee Wee teams wouldn't you want to field a AA and A team at the very least??

D11 is incorrect for the Bantam A & AA levels. Bantam A should be 1-Duluth East, 2-Northshore, 3-Hermantown. Bantam AA should be 1-Hermantown, 2-Duluth East, 3-Cloquet

Youth Hockey Hub Squirtacular

Maybe YHH can put a end to all of this speculation and give us a update as to whether this tourney is a go and is it Minnesota Hockey sanctioned?

Probably a loop hole in the rule book that they could get around . . . . . if it was a sanctioned event.

Makes no difference whether there is a squirt state tourney or not as MN Hockey season is not over until then and no team at any level can participate in a non MN Hockey event during the season.

Wrong. Minnesota Hockey's season does not end until March 17 at the close of the youth state hockey tournaments.

Youth Hockey Hub Squirtacular

I see Youth Hockey Hub is hosting a squirt tourney on March 12-17 in Bloomington. I have heard this is not a Minnesota Hockey sanctioned event, therefore, it would be an illegal tournament for any team to play in that is representing their Minnesota Hockey registered team/association. Seems that wou...

I'm filled with reason, but surrounded by the unreasonable. We wouldn't be having this conversation had Hermantown won. North Branch obviously had no idea and Hermantown found out when they went out of their way complaining that North Branch was in the tournament after the loss. Hermantown welcomed...

The problem is MH has a book full of rules that are hard to follow even if someone is taking the time to read the rules. My mission: Make sure the local associations up here no what is in the book in general and teach them to call me if something is questionable. Finally, a voice of reason. Thank y...

It is time for MNH to fold up shop then. MNH needs to take a look in the mirror for all of their errors this season. MNH did all their blunders on purpose and they'll fine two associations for an obvious mistake? Would MNH really think they would do this on purpose, if they knew there could be &quo...

I hope no one from Minnesota Hockey is reading this thread. North Branch and Hermantown would be in a bit of trouble. Perhaps all the A teams that played a B team may be facing some sanctions. WARNING TO ALL ASSOCIATIONS - DO NOT PLAY IN A TOURNEY THAT IS NOT AT YOUR LEVEL. A PLAYS A (AA IS A) B PL...

There will probably be more coming, a number of years ago at a 12A Girls tournament an association allowed 2 12B teams in. End result the association was fined and was not allowed to hold a 12A invitational tournament for 2 years and also were fined and since they had removed the teams after the fi...

You don't just get to walk into any tournament without proper authorizations Really???? From who? The folks holding the tournament should know the rules!!!! Maybe should look at losing to B1 team as motivating factor to get better. Before we pile on Hermantown too much here, how about North Branch? They aren't innocent in this. Why did a "B1" team enter a "A" tournament to begin with? Clearly against the rules of Minnesota Hockey. I...
