Re: Select 16/17 process and evaluation

Happened upon the list of the 17's top 54. Just wondering what the process is and what the evaluators are looking for. Anyone know? And to the highest bidder, more of a chance to slide in on the roster. boy a and boy b pretty much equal goes the boy onto the roster with more money and influence fro...

How many kids from the Edina combine got drafted? Would be interesting to know The Edina camp was for '00-'01 birthdates, so none were selected this year, though obviously that wasn't the goal of the camp, since '01s can't even play junior hockey next year, and no '00s are going to play in the NA e...

I keep coming back to big picture. How is it possible that Blaine had no representatives on the 16 team, when their bantam team was rated number two in the state. and they split with Minnetonka (along with a tie), which was the most dominant statewide Bantam team in recent memory . Seems almost imp...

Any reason why they have the lengthy HP16 tryout process right after they decide on a national roster? Wouldn't this process be a better way to put all players under the microscope? Seems backwards.. Curious where this legislator lives and what kind of transfer issues around his kid/program or constituents kid/program initiated this? Also curious to see if it happens. With only this limited info, I think in theory it's a good idea. Thoughts? Dettmer is from Forest Lake and a big wrestling guy. ...

Kallestad was the kid injured in the car accident. He was back and was the goalie that got injured against Hill-Murray on Tuesday.

Central Scouting mid-terms rankings come out soon. Likely going to be a big gap between Tufte and Graham/Mattson/anybody else.

I got a feeling Noterman wins it this year. He was great in the Elite League, and he looks awesome to start the season, so far. Taking nothing away from him, but regardless whether he has a HUGE year or not, he is on same team as Tufte who is likely the favorite and writers/voters etc won't give hi...

It's a $2 million non-refundable deposit to present a proposal to the NHL. $500 million expansion fee if the NHL actually accepts it. Good luck to them raising those funds.

Observations... You'll never make everyone 100% happy with every selection. The truth is, there's not a whole lot separating many of these kids. I will say, even if you disagree with who the volunteers selected, there was also at least half a dozen D-1 head coaches/assistant coaches, nearly every U...

They're still part of Section 2 for this event. There will be plenty, especially for the 16s, when that roster is posted.

Here's a novel idea. Kid cellies way to much in front of opponent's bench. Kid's coach sits him for a period or two or for a game. Kid quits being an idiot. Yeah, that was the MSHSL's plan. Last year, coaches were supposed to police excessive celebrations and sit their players if necessary. The pro...

The box score for that game is completely messed up. The points given to Garrett should go to Dylan. Garrett didn't even play in the varsity game.

Worth pointing out that Hill's starting goalie saw 15 shots in the first period, compared to the back-up who saw nine shots over the next two periods.

Begley is probably the better option in the long run for Hill. Their team just needed a wake-up call after a bad first period, and I'd say it worked.

Twenty-minute periods is a bad idea. Every coach skates their top line into the ground. There are kids playing too many minutes in a 51-minute game as it is. There's no reason to believe those extra nine minutes would go to third and fourth liners, unless we're talking about there potentially being ...

Rasmussen will play AAA in Colorado next season. I've heard a rumor that Holy Family is going to have a pretty well-known goalie transfer in to replace him, however.
