Not to get off the roster topic but I was at the section 7 tryout this past weekend and I am not sure how they sort out 50-60 kids? It seems like you could put the names in a hat and draw a pretty good team that way. The evaluators must start with some kind of an idea of what the team could look like then kids play themselves off that team? I was impressed at all the talent section 7 has.

I second that, not much separation in that group. A lot of very talented hockey players. What is the deal with only 2 goalies at tryout? Was there kids that didn't show up, or just not other 99 goalies for consideration?

Really? It must be golf or track, because there was a big brouhaha in GR last year over all the hockey players not going out for baseball.

I know the Hibbing kids on this team also play other sports, but they're on there.

I know some other Rapids kids were at the tryout. But unlike other years, their daddy isn't the coach or general manager. :shock:

Can't believe only 1 EP kid made the cut, and the goalie selection is less than stellar. But then, look where the coaches hail from. Explains the team selection 110%.

They're still part of Section 2 for this event. There will be plenty, especially for the 16s, when that roster is posted.
