Full disclosure - I am a supporter of the current coaching staff. The PL program is light years ahead of where it was when this coaching staff arrived, thus the much higher expectations. Before they arrived, simply being competitive in a first round section game would have been celebrated, to be a #...

Sounds like Hail-Money is getting nervous. You'll hear plenty of noise once the puck drops. Until then...shhhhhh Nope. This is the least nervous I've been in years. Stillwater has no shot. They also have no fans on this forum so it's a one sided debate  BlueLineSpecial ... Hello? Anyone out th...

The LN loss against Prior Lake will certainly cost them the #1 seed if they make it to St. Paul. IF (big if) the top teams all make it I think Edina is #1 and Wayzata is 2. Again, I don't want to draw too many conclusions, having not seen them play before last night; but based on that performance, ...

Nice win for the Lakers tonight, although I have to say neither team looked great. I had not yet seen Lakevillle North play before tonight, although I can't imagine they ran off the string of wins they had playing like they did tonight. North goalie had a number of point blank saves to even keep it ...

How does the Fellows kid look? Looked good from where I was sitting. Two goals...first was a 4 on 1 rush, so make of that what you will. But second was a rocket of a shot from a horrific angle...nifty enough for the official to signal a good goal by winding up and emphatically hurling his hand towa...

Prior Lake over Eagan 4-3 in OT. Prior Lake looks to be more skilled, though Eagan is a gritty team - blocked a ton of shots tonight. I think both teams will do well this year. Lakers have several younger players logging a lot of minutes and will continue to get better and Eagan's syle of play and g...

9. Prior Lake (13-7) -After giving Eagan a much better run than Burnsville did this past week, I’ve slipped the Lakers ahead of Burnsville in anticipation of their meeting this Tuesday. Despite the lack of overwhelming talent, this pesky team has been doing a very good job of hanging in there with ...

Eagan hangs on in the last 4 minutes to win at Prior Lake 5-4. Very entertaining game. Other than not putting the Lakers away, very impressed with Eagan.

have to play them sooner or later anyways so it doesn't really matter when. Not really, Edina could get upset in the semi's then a team would be glad they were in the 2/3 game. Agree - doubt that any of those three coaches will voluntarily take the #4 seed at the seeding meeting under the theory th...

Believe PL has as good a shot as the other three. The #2-#3 seeding doesn't really matter as that will be a neutral ice game anyway - just don't want the #4 seed and have to play Edina in the semis.

A bit of the same from earlier this week against Edina - Lakers playing not to lose in third period. This team is well coached and will learn to close games. They will be dangerous when February rolls around.

If so...5-3 the Lakers
Not quite, but don't believe they need to be for this one. Lakers 5-2.

anyone care to shed some light on the Jeff/Chan, AHA/PL games..? Prior Lake should win this game. However, they have been very inconsistent all year - wins over Wayzata and Lakeville South, but losses to Eastview and Hopkins. They are not as deep as they were early in the year due to injuries to ke...

Re: Thanks

Karl, as a Minnesota high school hockey fan, I'd just like to say thanks for your excellent work ranking the teams each Sunday. I have greatly enjoyed reading your posts each week this season. Best wishes, The Roseau Hockey Fan Karl - Ditto. I look forward to this each Sunday during the season.

Zam - I agree on Chan-Jefferson. I think PL will beat AHA, but this is a potential trouble game for them. They often play down to competition and AHA will have plenty to play for - revenge, as you say, and wanting to extend Coach Trebil's reign.

Good coaching - absoulutely. Prior Lake's program turned around approximatley 22 months ago when Joe Pankratz was hired. Albeit playing a softer Missota conference schedule, last year's team won 15 games with only 3 seniors that played regularly. Great coaching - including very good assistanc coache...

AHA drops to #4 and Prior Lake goes to Richfield next week. Should be a good game ... look for PL to break a long streak of getting pounded by the Stars.

This one is on the parents - as muckandgrind says, the young man is just a kid. Doubt he asked to have his sister appointed his legal guardian, etc, etc. Anyone who know the father here knows that this kid has jumped from one youth organization to another from the time he was a mite player. It is un...
