Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
Clafton has submitted his recognition for Greenway. Expect Andy Sertich to be the favorite to get the job if he wants it. Guessing Clafton will be on the Rapids bench this winter as an assistant to Coach Chiodo or possibly associate head coach. I’ve heard the two are good friends. A changing of the...

Re: 7AA 2020-2021
This was suppose to be the last year of a talented bunch of pucksters for CEC. Langenbrunner left though last year and Galatz will or won’t be back. Solid goaltending, an elite defenseman, and a decent top line. The boys in purple will give it their all, though. Coach Walters and his staff will hav...

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
I stand corrected then. I’m a fan of Greenway puck. I just hope they can it going up there. I’m sure they will make it to state again before my Lumberjacks. But fortunately, that’s not why I’m a huge fan of my purple

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
Combine Greenway and Rapids? You’ve come up with a lot strange and poorly thought out ideas but this tops them all. Apparently your knowledge of the Greenway/Rapids rivalry is sourly lacking. Everybody knows about that rivalry. Greenway can’t survive in 2020. I filmed the scrimmage this fall with C...

e: Coaching Changes - 2020-21 Report this post Quote Unread post Sat May 16, 2020 9:12 pm It sounds like you can add Greenway to the list Any truth to this post I sure hope not. Greenway program a tough sell the last 20 years. 7A a brutally tough section. With Virginia and Everett combining, its ti...

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
Sounds good. Can you tell me your thoughts on an enterim head coach for a year or is Proctor thirsty for a long-term hire. I do like Stauber just being a great AD. I don’t think Pionk is the long-term HC answer.

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
Sounds like things are exploding from inside the program. What they have now has zero chance of keeping their high-end talent in Proctor. A new building won’t do it alone. Stauber is probably already looking for work elsewhere. Possibly to Hermantown? I wouldn’t doubt it. Plonk as well.

Re: 7AA 2020-2021
Andover is going to rule 7AA again next winter with their depth. No team will have their quality depth top to bottom. It seems Duluth East will be all sophomores and a couple 8th graders with the talent. Rapids won’t be deep and no returning netminder. Elk has numbers and new rink next winter. Not ...

A two stallion race this year in 7A. Hermantown has oodles of high end talent coming into high school puck this winter. That sophomore class of theirs will probably tip the scales to them....

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
so Proctor is looking for a head coach. well that's good news he's staying on as AD. I wonder if Pionk takes the head coaching job next year. the next coach is interim for a year then pionk takes over full time?

Re: The Hermantown Thread
I don’t understand why any Hermantown fan would ever attempt a post defending the Hawks. They get immediately destroyed by either Jeffy or ranier or both. It does make for entertaining reading though. We all could use a smile during these crazy times, so let's thank HHawk4Never for dangling some se...

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
Dan Stauber has stepped down at Proctor. What! That's crazy!! So now will Pionk run the entire show now???? That's too bad. Stauber and Pionk seemed to make the perfect 1, 2 punch...... He resigned from a nice gig at UWS for Proctor and the opportunity to build a program. He must have an offer in h...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?
FWIW, no MSHSL athletic department can survive without the income football generates, unless we allow fans there is no reason to play the games. So would you say that the loss of football could cause a domino effect on other sports for the upcoming season? It’s hard to envision a school committing ...

I owned and operated my small business for 15 years before I sold it. It gave me a lot of opportunities to give back to our student/athlete pucksters over the years.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Kniven, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but, I can assure you that not only do most of the high school coaches in the state (A & AA) have an opinion regarding Hermantown, they are definitely concerned with what their continued placement in Class "A" is doing to the state tournament on ...

I’m not going anywhere unless I’m booted. I’m sure most are disappointed.
