7AA 2020-2021
Andover, Duluth East, and Grand Rapids top 3 in any given order. The others fighting for table scraps. Andover has officially taken Elks spot as a big kid in this section. But, this section will be changing drastically after this season. I just am really curious who they slide in to replace CEC and Duluth Marshall.

I’m just very curious what the forum thinks as far as possibilities of the section. What I’m saying is not impossible, is it? I just want a conversation on the possibilities. That’s all.

Can we talk you into staying on 7AA for next couple years. You know no official announcement has been made by CEC. Let’s not be hasty and jump into 7A yet.

I feel it's an irresponsible statement to make unless you have something material to back it up. As someone who is supposedly on the inside of this program (the MSHSL website lists you as a student manager, which by itself is sort of comical) I would think you'd want to exercise some caution before making such blanket comments.
Re: 7AA 2020-2021
I used to do stand up comedy, actually. The CEC program knows I am an idiot. I’m a passionate fan, and those kids are the best. I’m trailer trash to the program so no worries. I’m a clown.Lumberjack wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 12:07 pmI feel it's an irresponsible statement to make unless you have something material to back it up. Even though the hounds just got done with a "rebuilding" year, they're still graduating 5 of their 6 leading point scorers and a goalie that seemed to be solely responsible for a couple of their wins. Next season will probably be about the same... with the two after that being their years to return to former glory. Pretty much agree GR #1 closely followed by Andover. The rest will be like last season... pretty random. Overall 7AA is trending downward... anyone disagree?
Re: 7AA 2020-2021
Duluth East will have 7 very talented sophomores on their roster next year. I’m thinking 2extremely talented and large 8th graders, as well. Very young team next year, but I think they will be much more talented and deeper and confident then they were this year. I think any one of three teams will compete for the top spot in 7AA. 4 thru 8 will just be going through the motions and doing their best to compete. I’m curious as to when Elk River gets serious about their high school hockey again. Duluth East, Grand Rapids, Andover and Elk should make a very interesting storyline battle in 7AA the next 10-20 years.

It will be interesting to see when Elk River gets "serious" about high school hockey again, I guess making the section championship game wasn't serious enough for some while playing 1 freshman and 8 sophomores throughout the whole season/section playoffs. I can't wait to see where they end up if/when they do!!kniven wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 1:33 pm Duluth East will have 7 very talented sophomores on their roster next year. You are right. Elk River is back. And their new arena starting next year will be huge for that franchise too.

I am not suggesting that any team moves up or down from your list, just adding some perspective for conversation sake.StanleyCup55 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 5:20 pm Grand Rapids
Andover
Duluth East
Elk River
Cloquet
Forest Lake
Anoka

Grand Rapids 15 players returning 147 total points (2020 Bant AA final rank #31)
Andover 4 players returning 49 points (Bant AA final rank #9 hard to have many returning players w/all the Seniors they played, JV team was really good)
Duluth East 13 players returning 45 total points (Bant AA final rank #17)
Elk River 11 players returning 141 points (Bant AA final rank #27)
Cloquet 17 players returning 122 points (Bant AA final rank #39)
Forest Lake 13 players returning 82 points (Bant A final rank #57)
Anoka 11 players returning 66 points (Bant A final rank #48)
Duluth Marshall 9 players returning 30 points
All numbers above are for the regular season only. I only counted players who registered at least 1 point, some teams may have more returners than listed but didn't register a point last season. The rankings for the Bant A/AA teams came from YHH. I did not try to project who stays or goes from any of the teams because I hope they all stay and play in high school but I am sure there will be some who don't. Also didn't factor in any teams goalies.
Re: 7AA 2020-2021
I really think Rapids, East, and Andover will be in a slugfest atop 7AA next year. I just wonder who ends up with the better goaltender, defense and team chemistry.

Maybe.
But he does add something to this 'bored'.
Re: 7AA 2020-2021
Andover is going to rule 7AA again next winter with their depth. No team will have their quality depth top to bottom. It seems Duluth East will be all sophomores and a couple 8th graders with the talent. Rapids won’t be deep and no returning netminder. Elk has numbers and new rink next winter.

Re: 7AA 2020-2021
This section is wide open next year. Andover only returns 4 total players that saw varsity time. Schifsky returns but the other 3 returners combined for 22 points. Larson does return in nets so that helps.kniven wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 1:07 pm Andover is going to rule 7AA again next winter with their depth. No team will have their quality depth top to bottom. Elk River could be interesting. They do lose Humphrey & Michaelis but return a bunch of experience. Goaltending may be an issue.
Re: 7AA 2020-2021
There will be no 7AA in 2020-2021.
