Believe so. For sure the same family. Name is on the main gym too.
Does that mean there will be no advertising inside the new UST Lee and Penny Anderson Arena?
I kindly doubt it. Gonna need that NIL money....

0-5 on good games so far in class A. Let’s hope tonight and the champ game provides some entertainment You need a new bookie! Lol! Well I hardly think 3 shutouts (with all 3 being wins by 3 or more goals) and a running time game to open things up screams excitement. Orono v SCC is providing some la...

It sure looks like everyone was right about the Zephyrs and their season-long challenge putting pucks in the net.

I don't think HS hockey in Minnesota has faded in popularity. Arenas are still packed for big games, there is excitement and people seem to be engaged. What does seem to have faded in popularity is bantering with strangers about it. I do feel like there's just a desire to consume content rather tha...

I still enjoy this place. I follow quite a few people on twitter - but it isn't the same. It's mostly just someone posting, getting a couple of likes and then one person responding with a 5 word comment. I prefer the ability to have a more thoughtful discussion - but I guess attention spans aren't w...

Kennedy ends their program with a 13-1 loss. Thanks for the memories (particularly of the 1980s), Kennedy. Oit with a whimper. That '87 team was really something. I assume they will join a co-op? I thought I read somewhere that players would effectively join the Bloomington Jefferson team. They do ...

Re: Games Saturday 2-15-2025

I give HM a lot of credit for not giving up in the 3rd when they were down 7-4. They took their play up a level and the Spuds didn't respond. Personally, I think Ammerman got outcoached by Lechner. But Lechner outcoaches a lot of other coaches. Congrats to the Pioneers on a crazy win. If it’s any c...

Re: Games Saturday 2-15-2025

Facebook stream isn't bad. Camerawork is choppy, but beggers can't be choosers. Great start to the game by Hill, and then their standard kyptonite (silly penalties) completely turned the game, flow and momentum. This continues to be a major issue for this team. I can't tell you how many 5-3 penaltie...

Is there a live stream of the HM/Moorhead game today? Spuds TV doesn't cover their road games. NSPN.TV It's not free. Pro tip: skip the season subscription. Re: Games Saturday 2-15-2025

I'm very curious about the crowd at Gene Aldrich Arena on Saturday. I don't recall a time when this game featured two teams that were both top five, much less 1 vs 2. The tie versus Rogers takes just a bit of the shine off this game, but still I think it's got to be the biggest spot light this game...

My game plan right now is to see EP/Edina live and watch Moorhead/Hill on demand later in the day, which means I need to avoid the Internet like the plague (which in today's political climate it makes it easier to do, but I digress) for spoilers. I wish you the best of luck. I tried that with last ...

Two sayings that stuck with me from my youth. Troop master: if you can’t tie knots, tie lots. Youth hockey coach: if we can’t score, defend more. STA is having a hard time scoring right now (4 total goals against eastside powers Stillwater, WBL & Hill in recent games), and they aren’t necessaril...

Right now, it wouldn't shock me if White Bear gets knocked out in the section quarterfinals. Bears are in dire need of scoring and can’t seem to find it with any consistency. It’s hard to envision them beating a surging Stillwater and a powerful Hill team at this point. They should have broken up t...

FYI: updated the Stillwater write-up to acknowledge their forfeits, but it doesn't change my ranking of them. As for the Benilde/Shakopee question, I'm just riding Shakopee momentum and have been a little skeptical on what Benilde's ceiling is this season. From a strict quality wins standpoint I un...

In this case, I actually think the MSHSL got it right. Forfeit the two games he wasn't eligible to play in (meaningless in the scheme of things, but whatever). He couldn't play in what, like 18-19 games? Thats a pretty severe punishment. And finally, he has now successfully met eligibility requireme...

Re: AA Rankings for 2/9/25

I'd rank BSM ahead of WBL. Not sure there's a ton of difference in the ceiling for either team, styles of play aside. Both have a tendancy in recent weeks to let average teams hang around, and/or require some last-minute heroics to win/tie/keep a game closer on the scoreboard than it should have been.
