Net for hockey goal backstop
I need to build a backstop for our hockey goal that's usually in our driveway. My plan involves using either thick PVC or steel pipe as an up side down U shaped frame (attached to our in-ground basketball hoop for support). For those of you that have built something similar, I'm looking for opinions...

Don't combine! If people want to combine the youth program then winning becomes more important than development. Why not field two A teams at every level? Is winning more important than the opportunity to play on an A team and developing your skills? FYI, neither Jefferson or Kennedy will be winnin...

Seems like a win for all the kids up until high school. At high school, it seems you'd still end up with one school being stronger than the other. However, if a byproduct of having a combined program is reduced attrition at the youth level, both high school teams might be stronger and the numbers th...

keepurheadup: There are games when it appears a team is rolling their lines 111111! Also, the reason for the puck drop was Jefferson called a 1 minute time-out and the coach was still drawing out plays when RR was lined up 2 minutes later. The Ref blew his whistle and said come on. Then dropped the...

You must have issues counting too Rochester rolled there whole team (3 lines) and (6 D) and I now a certain ex Gopher Goalie was counting the shots and score keeping so im pretty sure the shot count was correct. The dropping of the puck was after the whistle and a slow change by Jefferson ..There c...

Re: Typical hatred for Rochester
Everyone can depend on certain people to slam Rochester and there program Instead of giving credit where credit was due, you choose to take the low road and blame people you don't know...That must be the reason your kids are 3rd and 4th liners ...not because they don't work hard but because the coa...

Re: Update from Rochester
I think the guy counting the shots was used to scoring basketball games.Stratal wrote:Rochester wins Gold division over Bloomington Jefferson 4-1
in a game they Outshout the Jaguars 33/ 13
and controlled the game from start to finish
Rochester played to win and did it well, congrats to them, they deserve it.

If people didn't selfishly abuse the system, and if Bernie didn't encourage it, then there wouldn't be the need for a rule. Novel concept, I know. Have people actually heard Bernie encourage skipping your community/association practices and games? I know a couple of families that do both choice and...

Was this pond hockey with no refs? If your kid is scared to play other kids the exact same age who are 12 and 13 years old and just over 100lbs soaking wet you better get him out of hockey. When you go into first years bantams in 3 months your kids will be playing 180lb 14 and 15 year olds who trul...

CCM forfeited a championship game because it was too rough? Thats a great lesson for the kids going into bantam hockey this year - When the going gets tough pack up your gear and go home. Maybe CCM can start up a new non-contact league or see if their boys can play in the girls hockey league. What'...

looks like the 98 thunderbay thunder are going home - ccm flyers refuse to play'em so they forfeited. Hopefully they never come back. The coach should be ashamed of how he's taught some of those kids to play or maybe it was the parents!?! Worst hockey I've ever seen. Some of those kids are going to ...
