I don't tell my kids its not raining when it is. I don't tell them the puck is black when it's blue. I do help them find the good things, and not live life thinking that a vacation is bad because it rains, or a hockey tournament is bad, because they are using a different puck than they have seen be...

Not having been there I can only imagine. I cannot determine the number of adults that made contact with the situation prior to him expressing his dissatisfaction to you. Coaches, other parents, the general rumblings from a dissatisfied crowd. There's all kinds of possibilities. Regardless of what m...

Unverified, were there 2 ineligible players rostered/who played Varsity? Hmmm, isn't this normally the responsibility of the Activities Director? Unless the coach intentionally concealed something that he knew from the AD, but that doesn't sound likely. Whatever the reason, it couldn't be good... I...

I'm gonna come out and say it. I don't know who you are, or what your qualifications are. I do think however that you are looking for clicks. The way you get them is to create controversy. Your insight and propaganda are simply a way to get read. Your articles focus on nothing short of tabloid youth...

Trash- you have made some very valid points. That and 5 dollars will get you a coffee at starbucks. Climb down off the soapbox, or start confronting this behavior in person at one of the hundreds of events that you attend each year (kinda creepy). I think your point has validity, but you are not go...

I've got no problem pointing fingers at any adult acting this way. Coaches and refs included. I do think we are all responsible for our own behavior, and a bad referee or coach is no excuse for ones own child like behavior. I've seen a referee ruin a good hockey game, but never seen one ruin a life...

Trash, regarding the baseball story... It is possible that for some of these families baseball is what they do. The boy loves it and the parents believe support and encouragement in the activity will provide long-term benefits for their child will learn valuable life lessons through participating. ...

TH- I like the story about the kid that never thinks he's good enough, but I have perspective from the other side. I am 35, growing up I played basketball. Both my parents always told me how great I was, how good of a job I was doing, that I was a super star, and how great it was that I was so tall...

I did not know that about the Warroad kid. That is terrible. So, the Blades went on the war path about the kid playing for Jr. Jets and he is not allowed to play in the Brick now? He lives under 90 minutes from Winnipeg and more than 6 hours from the cities. If true, that is funked up. They are bri...
