I don't see HF's Jared Moe on the list? I thought he was at Dubuque? Moe is at Waterloo. Gone. Does anyone have an updated list of early departs? I assume we know most by now. List on the first page appears to be missing Stejskal and Tabor for sure. Others notable in their absence from Elite League...

Tournament past weekend

There was a tournament this past weekend at Highland that had the Magicians and Blades from MN and then teams from IA, Omaha, Canada, etc... The Blades team looked pretty good - I saw a game at least where they looked pretty good. Curious if anyone else saw it? I was very impressed with Hanus. For a...

Since someone asked, here is the way-too-early top 10...I might have reversed one or two from where we had them, but it was approximately this, and assumes everyone returns until further notice: 1. GR 2. Moorhead 3. Edina 4. Minnetonka 5. STA 6. Duluth East 7. Holy Family 8. Cloquet 9. Centennial 10...

On a different note, there is a great 30 second clip on twitter showing the last scoring chance for HF with a few seconds left. Tabor makes a great pass to Byers in the slot who one-times it and Wiencek makes an awesome goal saving toe save deflecting it just wide. Very Zapruder-like grainy film qu...

Everyone in the building except the ref knew that should have been 5 and a game. I was in the building and this should have been 2:00. Anderson was leaning on the Ep the player, the hit took place before they crossed the redline. It looked worse than what it really was, This was a 2 players going h...

Some say Holy Family may be the best team in the state. They did manage a goal against Moorhead's six goals. Was at that game. HF was horrible and would have lost to Lesshead as well. Not sure it was a statement for Moorhead as much as HF being very bad for that game. That being said, I think...

There is no such thing as a 10 minute game misconduct. Most likely just a 10 minute misconduct along with the double minor. There won't be any suspension from a 10-minute misconduct - only from a game misconduct. Agree this is a BIG game that deserves plenty of chatter...

Here's how Happy see's the tournament picture shaping up. Eden Prairie #1 seed - 3 regular season wins over Edina and a win over Stillwater and throw in 2 wins over Minnetonka and Prior Lake (including playoff win) and Duluth East and a tie with STA is a pretty strong resume. Edina #2 seed - A win ...

I love the contrast in style between the teams which should make for a great game. I don't THINK the big sheet of ice will ruin that either - hopefully. EP offensive power v. HF D corps. I'm guessing - like the state tourney often, an unsung player decides it. Should be played at a fast pace - even ...

Oh....one more thing. I don't know what it is like elsewhere, but since when does it make sense to stick your least talented skater in the net? I have seen this way too many times. The "small", "slow", "weak" player gets put in the pads, and that is where he stays. I a...

There are no districts in Bantam AA. Seeding could be by any body you choose. I believe on Bantams they seed top 2 only in each of 4 regions so top 8 teams, and they try to seed 1 v. 8, 2 v. 7, etc. Then they plug in the remaining teams to fill the regions. But you could seed however you want. You ...

Personally I don't know why they don't do high school like Bantam AA. Take the top 24 or 32 teams, seed into 4 regions however you like, and top 2 from each region go to state. Fair. Will get most of top teams to state. Doesn't favor regionalism. And there is no travel argument (state is same size ...

In my opinion, the best line of all time was Broten, Broten, and Erickson.
Great law firm as well.
